Back Seat Moderating, a lot of members on this forum do it, and it stops now. If there is a problem about a thread on this forum, leave for an admin to handle or contact and Admin via PM or E-mail.
And to make sure you knows the rules, I suggest EVERYONE to re-read/read all of the following.
    Rules
    Nerf FAQ
    Forum FAQ

And for any questions related to Nerf of the forum-

    Uhhh... is backseat moderating this:
OMG you spelt < insert word > wrong. The admins will get you if you dont change that quick. And pointless thread.

If so, I totally agree with you. Unless there are no Admins on, as KingCam said. But even then, its TOTALLY unacceptable mostly.

Finally, was worried that you guys weren't doing anything about this.

Seems that people are putting more effort into flaming newbies for doing something wrong when they didn't read pages of rules instead of putting in less effort to actually answer the questions they post.

Hmmmm.... This isn't really up for discussion. No backseat moderating, period. How do you like it when someone backseat drives? It's incredibly annoying and backseat moderating fills the forums with posts saying "FLAME!!"; I know cause I use to backseat moderate. I do read every post now and I am on for most of the night where the members are most active - so are the other admins.

I reckon if you say something like - that question should go here (insert link) next time, and answer the question it'd be alright.

I'm gonna be a bit harsher now, cause ignorance of the law is no excuse and therefore it should be that way on the forums. Everyone should have read the rules at least once due to this thread and there's no longer have an excuse for breaking the rules. So the onus is on the members to read the rules now.

NB. If you have anything you think should be added to the Nerf FAQ please PM me, and I'll endevour to add it to the thread. I'm slowly compiling things to add to it - I've got like 5-7 more to post up.

I think if you want to backseat moderate. Just send the 'offender' a PM about it. That way that can eliminate 'public' moderating if you know what I mean.

Eh, I'm fine for certain people to backseat moderate. People like AJ, Chaos-blades, Informer, Psykka, Servulus and littlebro(when he can control himself) can backseat all they want imo as they actually contribute IRL to the nerf community by hosting wars/modding/other services. This is essentially an online community and if someone actually does some shit, they get to say some shit imo. It's when lurkers or noobs do it that grinds my gears.

Admins can't be everywhere at once and a few reminders by senior members is A-ok with me.

This is how I roll. I hate seeing new guys get "publicly humiliated" because they haven't read the rules. We want this place to grow, it's a +1 from me for the stop to backseat moderators.

As for the "oh but what if no mods are around"; they will be there soon enough when they log in and View posts since last visit. Chatbox is the only place this can really be worth mentioning; where I figure if you don't like what's going on just leave and PM a mod what's been said.
