    Your choice of weapon?

    Re: Your choice of weapon?

Post  Guest on Thu Nov 04, 2010 9:17 am

At the moment I have a BBUMB as Primary, and Nitefinder as secondary. When my recon that gets like 60 is fixed that will become my secondary and my Nitefinder will be my sidearm.

I haven't exactly participated in a war before... since you never really hear much about those things in Sydney. But if I had the chance, my setup would look like this (after I finish doing the mods):

Alpha Trooper (Aluminium barrel, spring replacement, padding, etc.)
Scatterblast (Stock, unless there are air restrictors in that thing... Obviously I haven't gotten my hands on one yet)
Reflex (AR removed, spring stretched <= I'd like to do a Hornet airtank mod on this some time, but I don't remember where I saw the write up )

I can tell, because you said...

    They're really not worth buying.

No restrictors, it doesn't have enough output to need them. True grenades are useless in real nerf wars.
You can just use vortex pocket howlers like we do in Foam Fortress Pro.

    To be on topic;

Epeen: Singled Titan with 2k secondary

    Foam Fortress Pro;

-Longshot, AS-20 and pistol (Stormfire or Spectre) and grenade
    -Longshot or raider
-Singled Titan, Stormfire and Spectre (or maverick)
    -Titan, spectre and 3 grenades
-Sheild, Sword, and maverick (or spectre)

Primary: wanna try my luck with a Firefly, hopefully modded by december with ar removal, better springs, and intergrating a clip system into it, if anyone has recommendations as to what i should use for it, please. help a brother out. if i lose interest, ill try my luck (and probably fail hard) with my recon.

I prefer range and reliablity over fire rate or accurancy anyday

Indoors i have to go with

Unbarreled recon w/ 35 drum mag
    Reflex Ix-1

    but outdoors

Unbarreled Scoped Longshot w/ 35 drum mag
    Nite finder
    REflex 1x-1

So far I just have my Recon and a Maverick. Both have AR removal, so yar. 'Tis all good.

That said, my Recon is definitely my Main weapon, with my Maverick being my side-arm. I'll be bringing those and (Possibly) a Nightfinder to the Decemeber 5th war.

Just my opinion, so don't take this personally, but wouldn't it be better to have range, reliabbility, rate of fire and accuracy all at the same time lolzzzzzzz.

What's the point having range when your shots aren't going where you've aimed it. This just means that increasing the range will eventually effect the darts you are using as some darts fly better than other.

What's the point of having range when the rate of fire is crap. Just means you'll be more easily rushed.

Reliability is the top priority right next to those other three attributes. For example. A Big Blast Vs. Raider. Who would win? Depends on the player.

Killerbunny for example is able to take down a Big Blast with his Raider. All he does continuously fires a stream of slam firing darts that reach about 50ft and he will still be able to take down a Big Blast. A Longshot vs a Raider. Who would win? Raider can still easily dominate the longshot just through rate of fire. Stock or modified.

Try shooting soemone with "RANGE" but no accuracy against soemone who has an AT or Raider, or even a Stampede raining streams of darts on you. It is not easy. You will probably say 'as if', but sounds like you've never been to large scale war before. You're also not likely to hit someone from more than 20metres and onwards anyway since this IS Nerf.. Unless you've got an Air Gun, it's very hard to hit with spring powered.

At the moment my loadout is

Furyfire - 10 rounds, pump action and 50-65ft
Maverick - 6 rounds, slide back and 50-65ft
NF - 1 round, funny plunger thing, 65-75ft

Just my loadout when I'm currently modifying Nerf Guns. Most effective and light loadout for ROF, reliability, moderate range and accuracy. :). Well I've found it like anyway.

Disagreeing slightly with Littlebro, if the person with a long range gun is skilled as well as the gun being accurate, the person with the raider is at a disadvantage, as the one shot the long range guy has is most likely going to hit them. Alternatively, if the person with the raider is good enough, he could theoretically be able to dodge any shots out of his range. It all comes back to how skilled the player is. Having a longer range or higher rof gun won't make you better, the gun is more to suit a players style, whether they like the challenge of being able to hit targets at long distance or whether they like rushing at people. It depends on how you want to play, and what your good at.
I personally think this is on topic, as this is a thread about your choice of weapon, but anyway, I'll make the effort.

    2k(110"), bigblast(too far) or tripleshot(unkown range,turreted and rear loading I might add)
    couplered nitefinder(50")
    Maverick(30")or magstrike(40")

I'm a tank, its obvious (maverick)

I'd also like to see what you've done to your maverick to get it to shoot 65ft littlebro.

Range can play a big difference in it, but I was just stating the fact that you don't NEED a long range guns. You probably have noticed that longer range guns usually = less effective shots (by just a margin). This is due to the very nature of inconsistency of stefans, unless you are like a stefan pro like some people on this site. *hint hint SS*. I did mention that in my debate.

For example, Big Blast - dead accurate if you're a good shot, but makes no difference if the dart you're using is shit. It will just veer off into a different direction. If Jebus, Buddha, Gandhi, etc, loves you, it will veer into someone else.

    Since you brought Epeen up...

Primary = Brass Breech'd Longshot - 100ft-110ft with stingers OR My awaited Quadshot which will have a ridiculous reload time faster than rear loading...
Secondary = Quadshot /w Short Barrels ---- hopefully holstered 60ft-75ft
Sidearm = NF with Brass Barrel and double spring... - 60-75ft...

As you can see my back up weapons don't have Epeen ranges, but they are just there just in case.

Noob Lbro says - I just knocked out the ARs and actually get 1000ft.

In all seriousness, I just added an upgrade DTG spring OR a Maverick spring from Black-Tactical. You will see that when you try to prime it, it's the perfect strength between too much and too little.

    Maverick Spring

    DTG Spring

Both great springs for the Furyfire and Maverick. - PS I use stinger darts, so you may get different results. Shots are angled from head height 160cm. Yes, I'm very short.

Primary: Modded, foregripped LS with tactical rail SSPB attachment.
    Tertiary: Soon-to-be Mavfinder.

Other stuff: Bandolier kit and a dead recon (was a piece of shit before it popped).

i really only have my longshot and 2 mavericks so my choice is limited

i did have a recon but most of its bits have been integrated / added to my longshot.

My load out for a good battle.

Primary. my recon with modded maverick attatched underneath barrel. I run a flip clip and a standard clip in stock as well. plus the maverick loaded underneath. i only run lasersight at night. having the maverick attached to the front effectively turns my recon into a pump action and can simotanously fire two darts at once. the other advantage is the maverick can fire any type of dart. Allowing me to return fire anything that i pick up.

secondry. Stampede. enough said. great when things get hectic. i run ammo belts on both recon and stampede. One belt fully loaded with darts and clips.

Last resort. Two mavericks, one in each pocket! mavericks kick serious butt at close range!
