So if I put in an order now for an Alu L part and a plastic tail (Possibly a catch), you could post it out when you receive payment?

I never thought I would see you here again mate, lol.
How are the RFSG spacers going? I'll pay up for the whoile package when you're ready, though I'm itching to mod my RFSG.
Thanks.

RFSG spacers, havnt had time to get larger polycarb sheets yet
Would you mind if the RFSG spacers have a 5mm hole in the center?
Most likely, the plungers are fairly similar. I know it works in the Long Strike2120 wrote:Hey Chris, with that Recon spring, can I assume I can use that in a Raider or an AT?

Re: Aluminium nerf parts
When I go for postage, does my order count as one item (as you have an option for an add on to the LS L Part), or as three separate items.

Hey Chris,
looks like the Recon spring is out of stock for the meantime. Guess I'll wait till it's in stock? Don't want to wait too long

When you are adding optional extra items to the LS L part they count as one item

I have lots of long shot sleds (no tails) and springs

aluminum has gone down from 66c to 50c/100mm
shipping tubes are now $5 each

Re: Aluminium nerf parts
Hey Chris,
Any plans on a replacement plunger tube and plunger rod for the LShot?
I've only broken one boltsled which was inadequately reinforced, but so far I've managed to destroy 2 plunger tubes (where the catch plate screws on - namely the screw ports) and 3 plunger rods... haha
Cheers,

Re: Aluminium nerf parts
Making the tube part is difficult, If the tube didnt break that would help
hmmmm
Is the end of the rod ok, the part with the o-ring?
Guess both parts would be easy to make, the o-ring end would have to be made of tougher plastic
As for the screw mounts, what if I made a flange at the opposite end and used long bolts to clamp the plates together over the tube?

Re: Aluminium nerf parts
Yeh mate, the tube didn't break. The screw ports stripped out (and, yes, it was assembled with care not to strip the original thread). I do like the idea of the threaded rod and an opposing flange. Just not sure on how much demand there would be, but I have noticed a number of member's experiencing similar issues. I just filled the screw holes with JB weld, and cut a new thread, but it's definitely not a permanent fix.
As for the plunger rod, the 3 of mine that have broke, have always been the skinnier section of the rod, that the head sleeves over. My theory would be a metal rod, with an extended thread. And just use a longer machine screw to secure the plunger head.
Thanks, you've given me a couple of ideas for DIY repairs.

Re: Aluminium nerf parts
yeah patent pending
Both pieces should be fairly easy to make
After I finish my current order I might work on it

Re: Aluminium nerf parts
haha - no worries mate!!
I think the plunger rod would be a pretty good seller, especially for those wanting to use fairly beefy spring combo's.
Cheers,

Re: Aluminium nerf parts
You could probably make the end easily enough as it doesnt need to be super accurate
I dont know if anything will need to be removed from the casing.
The rod should be easy to make on a lathe, I'll make it out of 2 pieces, the trigger end bit and screw it to the main rod, that way I'm just machining each end to the right size

I would be interested in some kind of off the shelf solution to hold the back plate on also.

Re: Aluminium nerf parts
+1 on alu rod
The alu catch you sell seems to wear down the "end nub" of the original plastic plunger rod - I'm assuming this happens as plastic is gradually shaved off the nub each time the trigger is pulled.
I know of at least one person who has experienced this.

An alu rod would be very nice. I guess we'd have to lubricate everything very thoroughly though. Alu on alu on alu would be interesting
