Those guys really need to upgrade to sil tip darts. They'd use way less ammo.

Anyway back to the topic. The colour of the Rayven in your picture looks really lime green. Not the most attractive colour.

I agree with Akimbo. It definitely has to be a different colour. They should of just went with Yellow. That way you can attach most of the other attachments of Nerf Blaster and it'll still look nice.

The lime green makes it look as if they tried to go with N-Strike colours mixed with Vortex, in my opinion.

littlebro05 wrote:Haha such a suck up. Just sayin'. I don't think I'd pose like that in a photo by myself and put it all over the internet if I'm still interested in Nerf at that age. It would have to be a group photo for sure.
Saw some footage of the 'battle test'. Seems crap. Lol, it's a spray and pray gun, you may as well get a more reliable stampede, even if it might 'cheaper' to get a rayven, the stampede still wins as you can spray and pray and the darts actually go straight (if you're using stingers / heavy tips).
Trust me the only people who were praying were getting shot at.....It was scary and unpredictable....
Lol and the conceal identity was a joke...it was because I didn't think it was a great photo....

Oh come on Luke. If he doesn't want you to see his face then that's his choice. He doesn't need to explain himself to you. Also, no one likes it when you go about trying to find faults or prove them wrong.
Now, in these videos it looks like streamlines where used and we all know what they're like. With good darts I think it's possible to use this blaster quite effectively in some wars. Obviously not Northside/Southside epeen wars though.

Please stay on topic guys, I don't want to have to clean up this thread and I don't want to hear any more crap about photos or what not.
Will have to see how the rayven does with sili/snap darts, but honestly I don't expect anything better than a barricade. Sounds like it has great form factor and would be good at HvZ and stock wars. Not sure how it would do against tier 2 weapons and wouldn't have it anywhere near tier 3 weapons (unless it was to be used as a PDW which really, it is too big for).

Funny if the rayven starts to dominate LS and mega raiders and tripleshots etc...

I think the win here is that it's a flywheel blaster that can actually take streamlines.

Of course, we're only working with mostly hypotheticals until it becomes publicly available. Stock - it's already better than a Barricade being clip fed and having that second trigger. And barricades don't work well with snap caps. In fact most flywheel blasters don't.
But yes, of course epeen or against anything shooting above 100 feet, it's not going to be the best blaster, though I assume still effective for those rushing. I just don't understand littlebro's assumption with the Stampedes v this. There's the size and weight 'apples and oranges' argument, and I've seen Stampedes, I've seen them break down. Despite their auto-capability would it be safe to say they don't exactly dominate wars in number and performance? Is everyone rocking out on Stampedes?
Anyway I digress.

Yep it is all apples and oranges. Given the situation any gun can be the best....except the longstrike, because it sucks.

The stampedes I modified with the BT spring and stock spring actually do really well in our EPEEN wars. They hit 30metres (angled 15degrees), and hit hard too. The one thing I want to know will the Rayven be able to spit out darts 'consistently' so they actually fly straight with heavy / lite silicone darts.
For the matter of size, I've seen alot of "SMG" mods done to stampedes and they seem to increase the velocity quite dramatically. I still stand by the fact after watching that video for rayven, it's pretty crap outdoors spray and pray blaster. Gotta keep it indoors or for HvZ. I think that loud buzzing noise gives people who use it adrenaline. I think the other thing is that Rayven's trigger pull must be as easy as the trigger pull for the nitron. So it's not a long pull.
I have yet to see a stampede breakdown. inf0rm3r has been using my stampedes for over 10 wars now on 16.8Vs and it hasn't even shown signs of breaking (cross me fingers). That includes a few other stampedes I've modified. They've been still going strong =).

While the Rayven may not have merit for those in QLD or other states with a strong playerbase using 4Bs, UMBs and TS equivalents, for WA, ACT and those who like this kind of blaster style, it is a valid choice.
Power doesn't have to be everything, you know
On the stampede front:
With mine (which stripped its gears after 3 clips), which only had the last section of faux barrel cut off, I was not noticing any difference between that, and an SMG'd stampede. If anything, the faux barrel length made mine a little more accurate.

The QLD wars we have something called SFW (name I made up) that's where no air blasters are allowed in our wars. It may prove useful there. However, you guys must have the worse luck with stampedes. inf0rm3r's stampede as I said before dominates in EPEEN wars as well as normal wars too.
The rayven with all those flippy floppy darts, I'm very curious to see how they perform with lite tips / heavy tips darts. Maybe then, I would change my views on it.

I'll leave it at that then. If I had known the context of your flywheel dislike I would've left it at the first post.

We've had three stampedes break during wars. All of them were shredded gears. Probability says Informer's lucky, not that we're unlucky lol.

Stripped gears. That's strange. I know all the stampedes with the BT and stock spring combined... they've been working fine. Blame it on hasbro for using weak gears.
Haha, no hate here. I've already outlined what the rayven maybe useful for and I'm really curious to how they perform with lite / heavy tips. The streamlines, from the video I watched, at least 25-40% of them were flippy floppy firing (FFF?).

In a tight spot with someone rushing me it'd be great to have a semi auto blaster that i could use for rapid shots at a closing target. Especially on 'control points', flanked positions that are out of the way, and threaten enemies in the centre of the field.
A rayven, set to wait for me at these flanking locations would be brilliant to keep pesky TS and Shotblast critters from fisting me at close range while i reload.

Im pretty sure no one knows. Best bet is to keep an eye out on the Urban Taggers blog as they are always the first to know this stuff normally. They are guessing it will be very soon though. Out in time for Christmas.

Hasbro are leaving the rayven release nice and late if they want a Christmas release, still, it could hit shelves tomorrow.

Sorry mate your info wrong.
This info I now bring to you has been copy from Urban Taggers.
http://urbantaggers.blogspot.com/2011/12/nerf-rayven-cs-18-us-release-dates.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+UrbanTaggers+%28Urban+Taggers.%29
Nerf Rayven CS-18- US Release dates (speculative)
We've been talking about the much anticipated Nerf Rayven CS-18 for a while, but our well respected contact States-side has informed us that there's now very strong evidence to suggest the Rayven will be released around the end of January 2012 with a RRP of $39.95. US e-tailers are already offering it for a bit cheaper, but in general you're still looking at that 35-40 buck mark.
Thanks from Cameron.

Amazon Japan says 22 March 2012 for their local release.
It's an indication that it will be released somewhere else earlier in this world.
Japan's not the place to be for Nerf anyways.

It's like the same guy for every box. Where is the variety? I guess it's cheaper to pay for one guy than several others posing lol.

Nah, they're all different guys, it's just the same variety of poses.
