When typing this it was quite scary that I typed in '2011' instead of '2010'. Anywho asides that, as the title says this day will be designated for a Humans Vs Zombie day!

    Time:
11AM-5PM - Time maybe subject to change due to the heat of the summer

    Location:

    McCaskie Park - Kelvin Grove

    What to bring:

    Bandana
    Nerf Blaster or two
Nerf Darts - You should bring at least 50. Recommended 100. However, what we might do is get all of our darts that we bring and throw it in a box. Then share it out equally at the end of the day from what we can find.
    Eye Protection
    Cardio!

    Rules:

    1. The range limit to your blaster will be set at up to 60-70ft. This is for safety issues since the zombies do come up at pointblank. Your dart blaster will be compared to a modified furyfire (60-70ft ranges) if we suspect that the gun you brought is too powerful for HvZ. Singled air guns are also banned. For the people who don't have any reading ability, magstrikes and RF20s are not banned.
    2. STEFANS ARE BANNED!!! You're only allowed to use STOCK Nerf, Buzzbee, Lanard, etc. Obviously another safety issue, a point blank shot can easily knock someone's teeth out or break someone's glasses, or make someone rage if they get shot in the face.
    3. Humans will die if the zombie tags them with one hand.
    4. Zombies will die if shot in the torso. Headshots do count, but they are not encouraged. Please do not aim for the head intentionally. Limb shots will result in the zombie losing a limb.
    - e.g. if both arms are shot, the zombie will be unable to tag a player. If the legs are shot, they will able to walk on their knees.
    - Zombies will regain all limbs when they respawn. Respawn rules are dependant on the game.
    5. Don't be a doodle noggin'. If you're hit or don't feel it and someone calls you out on it, as the zombie or human (in some of the game types) just say that you died. However, don't be a douche in the opposite direction where you shoot somewhere no where near the zombie and say they've been hit. Common sense really. I'll be stopping to film some of this so I'll be half refereeing.

Keep an eye on this thread. Game Types will be posted up soon. Here are a few examples...

Paranoia Infection (normal mode)- Watch the video below
Paranoia Infection (swarm mode)- will be explained later

HvZ Three Way CTF - Three teams, 2 teams are humans, 1 are zombies. Will be explained thoroughly later

Video Game interpretation into HvZ Nerf - Example of this video is below...

There will be much more. Will be kept updated.

    Update 1:

    Game Types:

    Paranoia Infection
    Super Paranoia Infection
    Paranoia Infection CTF
    Resident Foam 3 (RE3 Interpretation)
    Left4Foam (L4D Interpretation)

If we have have enough time for the rest of the day we will be trialing a wide scale HvZ. SnowDragon, Phuonguyen and Myself will be the organisers for this event and will explain the rules throughout the day.

    Darts:

If you are a zombie and have been shot. Use the time to pick up any darts that have been shot at you before you respawn. This way we can keep dart loss at a minimal. After you have collected those darts, put it back at the dart box area.

    Dart Registration (optional):

This is what I call dart registration. Will be taking the names down of people and how many darts they have brought and what types of darts they have brought with them. At the end of the day we will try to redistribute them all. Since we are playing in a small area... we won't lose too many darts.

    Dart Hire (optional):

For those who aren't willing to lose their darts at this HvZ, we now have an optional dart hire for $5 per person. How it will work is that only the people who hire darts will be able to have access to this box. At the end of the day, people who have paid for hire must help retrieve all of the darts and put it back. Do NOT steal any, if we catch you there maybe consequences resulting in banning from the community temporarily. This also includes if you steal other people's properties. Thanks.

Remember to bring EYE PROTECTION. Without it, you will not be able to play.

Haha. It's not exactly to north from CBD.... it's about maybe 5minutes north of KG War :P.

If you can organise Left 4 Foam. Then you can be one of our event HvZ gamers after I've run out of ideas LOL. I've only got those three ideas. I'm open for new ideas, but it has to be as simple with an objective.

LFF might work a bit better if the zombie shave a respawn location away from anywhere that the humans would travel to through an objective. The problem with the last game is that zombies could respawn at the fences, and we had to pass within a metre of the fences to get places along the left side. If they respawn out of the way, we would have waves of hoardes, not zombies respawning five seconds after being shot because they got shot on a fence.

Using the trees in that area, the trees will probably be the respawn points for the Zombies. If not, there will be stakes put up (from the Tarps) and the tarps will be where the zombies will respawn. Just an idea though.

    Bump.

I have went out there and taken pictures of the surrounding areas. You can view them in the link below.

    https://s233.photobucket.com/albums/ee275/littlebro05/Alderley%20Park/

For those who wanted more of an angled 360 view of the park, here is video I've taken for the upcoming HvZ event.

    Will keep this thread updated.

At the moment we've got these four games set in stone...

    Paranoia Infection
    Super Paranoia Infection
    Paranoia Infection CTF
    Resident Foam 3

    If we have time...

Trial of a large scale game

These game's aren't set into stone and is probably for future HvZ events...

    Resident Foam 3 Vengeance
    Left4Foam
Fort Defence Zombie Swarm (unfortunately we don't have a good fort, maybe able to play if we setup some tarps)

I have changed the range limit to 80ft.

Also for those who are worried about losing too many darts, we will have a registration paper (optional) where you will sign on your name and how many darts you brought (i.e. 10suctions, 100streamlines). We will then try out BEST to get as many darts as possible. You do not have to this as stated before, but it is recommended once all the darts are thrown into a box.

Fresh off my G15, rules list. Caution, text wall

    Humans Vs Zombies
    Paranoia Infection

    Objective:

    Humans:
The aim is to survive as long as you can. If you somehow survive to the last two human survivors, you might be able to eliminate the infection, and escape.

    Zombies:
The aim is to eat all the remaining humans in the surrounding area. BRAINS.

    How it will work:

Draw from the box of poker chips
If you draw blue, you are a human
If you draw red, you are Patient Zero (Zombie)
The blue : red poker chip ratio will be 6 : 1
The Admins/mods will call when each section of the game has begun in addition to the whistle blows.

    Rules:

RULE ONE: DON'T BE A DICK

Listen to the Admins and Mods. Their word is law.

Do not tell anyone what you have drawn from the box. Telling or showing people what colour chip you drew ruins the game.

Once the whistle is blown the game will start. There will be a timer of 60 seconds from this moment that Patient Zeros can pretend to be normal humans. They can also turn into zombies at any time during this period. After the 60 seconds is up, another whistle will be blown, meaning all Patient Zeros become standard zombies, and must reveal themselves

You cannot move outside the ‘boundaries’ or else you will become a zombie. These boundaries will be marked. If zombies see the human step outside the boundaries, they can call the human out on it.

Humans turn into zombies when a zombie player tags the human with two hands. This must be a tag with the palms, not fingers on both hands scraping the human's clothing.

Weapons and gear on the human do not count as part of the human in regards to tagging. But if the human tries to take advantage of this fact (IE using their gun as a shield) Their equipment loses that power. Wonderful paradox, isn't it?

Zombies can be stunned by shooting them with a nerf dart, or hitting them with a thrown sock. Headshots also count as a stun, but we discourage this behaviour as it is not very pleasant and can be viewed as being a jerk. If you start aiming for the head, the mods/admins reserve the right to strip you of your humanity, and also constitutes a violation of Rule 1

If you are the last two human survivors you are now able to ‘kill zombies’. This means zombies will not be able to respawn and they will die. This will give a chance to the human team to win the game. The Admins/mods will call when this section of the game has begun.

If you are called out on being hit by the dart, please do not argue with the shooter and just take the ‘tag’. However, please do not call out a hit on a zombie when it clearly did not get them. This is all just common sense. Violation of the this rule is a violation of Rule 1

In case of disputed tags between who hit who first, the human is given the benefit of the doubt, and the zombie is counted as stunned per normal. This is for simplicity and flow of the game.

A double whistle blow indicates that the game is to be stopped, because of injury and or other concerns.

    Humans Vs Zombies
    Super Paranoia Infection

    Objective:

    Humans:
The aim is to survive as long as you can. If you somehow survive to the last two human survivors, you might be able to eliminate the infection, and escape.

    Dormant Zombies:
These zombies will be called out at any time during the game. This is the second element of paranoia when they have come out of nowhere. Once active, the dormat zombies must eat BRAINS

    Zombies:
The aim is to eat all the remaining humans in the surrounding area. BRAINS

    How it will work:
Draw from the box of poker chips
If you draw blue, you are a human
If you draw green, you are a dormant zombie
If you draw red, you are Patient Zero (Zombie)
    The blue : green : red poker chip ratio will be 3 : 2 : 1
The Admins/mods will call when each section of the game has begun in addition to the whistle blows.

    Rules:

RULE ONE: DON'T BE A DICK

What the Admins and mod say is law

Do not tell or show anyone what you have drawn from the box.

Once the whistle is blown the game will start. There will be a timer of 60 seconds from this moment that Patient Zeros can pretend to be normal humans. They can also turn into zombies at any time during this period. After the 60 seconds is up, another whistle will be blown, meaning all Patient Zeros become standard zombies, and must reveal themselves.

Dormat zombies are given the green chips.

You cannot move outside the ‘boundaries’ or else you will become a zombie. These boundaries will be marked. If zombies see the human step outside the boundaries, they can call the human out on it.

Humans turn into zombies when a zombie player tags the human with two hands. This must be a tag with the palms, not scraping the human's clothing with fingers

Weapons and gear on the human do not count as part of the human in regards to tagging. But if the human tries to take advantage of this fact (IE using their gun as a shield) Their equipment loses that power. Wonderful paradox, isn't it?

In case of disputed tags between who hit who first, the human is given the benefit of the doubt, and the zombie is counted as stunned per normal. This is for simplicity and flow of the game.

When the whistle is blown for the third time, the dormant zombies are free to strike at will. They are still able to stun other zombies until they come out of their disguise. Unlike Patient Zeros, these zombies do not have to reveal themselves until there are only four survivors (including themselves) left.

A double whistle blow indicates that the game is to be stopped, because of injury and/or other concerns.

    Humans Vs Zombies
    Paranoia Infection CTF

    Objective:
The flag is the device which keeps the humans from turning into zombies. The two teams must sabotage each other in order to keep them from turning into zombies.

    Humans:
The aim is to capture the enemy’s flag and thus win the war After this deed is done, the enemy human team turns to zombies and the remaining humans are able to ‘kill’ the zombies instead of stunning them.

    Zombies:
The aim is to disturb and hinder the two teams in capturing their own flag. Also, to eat all the BRAINS

    How it will work:

Draw from the box of poker chips
If you draw blue, you are a human
If you draw red, you are a zombie
The blue : red poker chip ratio will be 5 : 1 on each team

    Rules:

RULE ONE: DON'T BE A DICK

Once the whistle is blown the game will start. Once this whistle sounds, any Dormant Zombie may attack at will.

When the human is shot by the opposing human team they must sit down where they died. If carrying the flag, they must hold onto it. During this time, the flag they are holding can be retrieved by the opposing team or team member.

They will respawn where they died when another team member tags them on the shoulder.

During the time the humans are ‘injured’, a zombie is able to attack the injured player and turning them into a zombie. In addition to this, any zombie can also turn any other player into zombies through standard double palm tags.

Each team will have a secret zombie which is able to infect at any given time to either their own human team or the opposing team.

When they have died, they must return to one of two respawn points designated for zombies.

When the zombies respawn, they will have five second invulnerability where the zombie player must count aloud to indicate their immunity. During this time they may not move, or make any kills(Anti-camping)

Once the losing team has lost their flags, they will all instantly become zombies as they have lost their anti-zombie device.

The winning team will now be able to ‘kill’ the zombies in order to win the game completely. Zombies are unable to respawn during the last phase of this game.

A double whistle blow indicates that the game is to be stopped, because of injury and/or other concerns.

Hey guys, there's some bad news.

I'm not gonna be able to attend this one due to a prior commitment.

I only knew about it due to the facebook event - so that's a good thing.

I reckon that all nerf wars should now be counter posted as a facebook event, just in case there's other friends who might want to participate in the war.

    Have fun without me!

Will there be dart hire? I have somehow run out of darts.. And only one of my local stores would sell an ammo box. And by stefans, do you mean like stingers or heavies or what?

Remember to bring socks as well, as balled up these can stun zombies.

Please note, only clean socks please.

I should be there with a freind but I have a question, can any colored bandanna be used and can I use my LS, it's getting 60ft flat. I can make a range test video if you would like,or you can test it on the day. KB, Joey and Reconzor I will have your stuff on the day if you are able to make it.
Please excuse my grammar, I'm on my iPod.

Chances are I will not be there, however I will get snow to pay you and pick up my spring.

60ft flat LS should be fine, mine does that and I have been using it in zombie wars. It is really the BBBB ranges (100ft+) and the stinger darts that are the real pain. Though this may change when we get sillies as they are pretty hard too.

The range limit is 80ft. Anything higher than that is banned. This includes big blasts. I left a bruise on lefty's arm with a whistler dart (20mm orange conduit makes good suction and whistler dart barrels). Eye protection is a must.

Same rules apply as usual, no eye protection, no play.

    Humans Vs Zombies
    Resident Foam 3

Objective: The humans signal the ‘rescue’ copter down, but Nemesis appears! The copter cannot move down any closer until Nemesis is killed.
    Humans:
The humans must kill nemesis. Once nemesis is dead, they are able to kill the zombies as nemesis is controlling them.
    Zombies:
The zombies must help support nemesis in destroying all survivors.
    Nemesis:
    Destroy all survivors.
How it will work (Easy Mode)
    1. The human : zombie : nemesis ratio will be 2 : [2 (or more to replace nemesis’s)]: [2 (Maximum)]
    2. There will be two human squads (nominated)
    3. There will be two nemesis (nominated)
    4. There will be more than two zombies depending on the human to zombie ratio
How it will work (Hard Mode)
    1. The human : zombie : nemesis ratio will be 1 : [2 (or more to replace nemesis’s)]: [1 (Maximum)]
    2. There will be two human squads (nominated)
    3. There will be two nemesis (nominated)
    4. There will be more than two zombies depending on the human to zombie ratio

    Rules
    1. Nemesis is released when the humans wave the flag in the air for the ‘rescue’ helicopter to fly down.
    2. Nemesis can only be killed with a ‘grenade’ or ‘missile’ launcher (foam rockets). It will take three rockets per nemesis.
    3. Nemesis can be stunned by three ‘darts’ or bullets anywhere on the body, but not killed.
    4. During the time Nemesis is stunned, the human team can shoot Nemesis with a rocket to decrease hit points. This stimulates the opportunity when the big boss is down to take Nemesis out.
    5. Nemesis will carry a stock Nerf Maverick as his weapon and can only carry six darts in the chamber PER RESPAWN. This means he cannot pick up the darts after he has shot them. He can only reload when he is stunned.
    6. Humans will start with the grenade launcher, but have no foam missiles.
    7. Foam missiles are scattered throughout the playing field.
    8. Humans must shoot the zombie in the torso in order to ‘stun’ them.
    9. However, a foam rocket anywhere on the body will ‘stun’ them
    10. When zombies are stunned, they must return to one of four spawn points and count to thirty as quickly as they can.
    11. In order for a zombie to killed a human, they must tag them with at least two hands.

Here's the roleplay HvZ we will be doing on the day.

Haha. I've had worse. I got shot in the finger joint by a 'solid' heavy round and it was numb for about 15minutes. You were lucky it was just a stock nerf dart :P. Which reminds me. If it could be cool, you told me you're probably not up for a run, so do you think you can help us run the games for us. We'll explain what you can do to help us on the day if you'd like.

Sure. As I said I'll be a little late but just let me know what I can do.

I'm getting a bunch of BT springs this week so I might be able to give a back a little of what I've been getting

Count me in if it isn't flooded, or raining. Also, I'm selling a Longstrike front barrel ($15) and a Titan rocket and coupler for $15, both are negotiable.

Cheers. If it is still BUCKETING on Friday night, and it is getting canceled, don't forget to post it!

If it's convenient for you guys could we change the date to the 23rd, which I believe is a Sunday. The 22nd (Saturday) is also a good time and is exactly a week from the original date. I also have a question: Does it matter what colour the bandana is and what do you mean by "cardio" (in the what to bring list, I'm assuming it's a joke?)

Yes it's a joke. Cardio WILL be useful though cause you're going to be tired one hour in.

    Also, doesn't matter what colour.
