    Dart Tag 2011 - Quick 16 - Unboxing & Review Empty Dart Tag 2011 - Quick 16 - Unboxing & Review

Post  psyk Mon Jan 31, 2011 8:13 pm

    Hey guys,

got my hands on a Quick 16, and I'll let the video do the talking:

    things to take note:
I've removed the dart post and by doing so, enables the blaster to fire off streamline darts.

also, the new tagger darts whistle as they fly. I guess that was the intended purpose of the little hole in the tip of the darts.
but to me, and many others, that's just equivalent to a lower accuracy.

Opening up this blaster is a real pain. I tried taking pics but the ambient lighting is really bad so you can't see anything.

After closing up the blaster (which took over 30 mins due to the new in-built clip) I've decided I'm not gonna open this blaster again.

Internals are almost exactly identical to the Raider and the Alpha Trooper,
however, it has a bunch of extra stuff hooked onto the boltsled / plunger assembly (all due to the inbuilt clip) and the funny thing is, the dart-tooth is now a loose piece, also hooked onto the plunger assembly.

Mods that will be able to be performed on this blaster are the usual:
    Spring Change
AR Removal (the same way you would on any reverse-plunger system blaster)
    Plugging the air-leak hole

and basically any other reverse-plunger system mods.

    update:
I've decided I'd contribute what little I can to this huge Nerf community so I filmed myself opening and closing the blaster. and a little firing demo of all dart types after removing the dart post.

actually... where I'm at (Singapore), we haven't gotten these blasters in the stores yet. I got my set off another user on the NerfSG forums, although I don't know his source....

Would you say the reverse plunger is slightly larger in diameter than in a raider or the same. I was thinking that the larger diameter of the whistlers would mean the barrel would have to larger and therefore the plunger would have greater volume.

That Tornado Strike does look awesome! It's a shame you aren't going to open it again, but really you'd might as well use a Raider in a war. 35 capacity isn't something I'd argue with :P. Thanks for the review

I guess I felt a little bad that I didnt take a video on opening / closing up the blaster,
and I guess I wanted to contribute what little I can to this huge community,
    so...

an update, I've decided to do up a video on opening and closing the blaster...
and how it can fire off all dart types now

    Part 1:

    Part 2:

    Enjoy.

and I'm really not opening the blaster up ever again.

Gosh... Hasbro's getting smarter. That looks like a real beast to open and muck around with. Maybe that's their solution to modding; to make everything disgusting to open and not as simple and easy as the Alpha Trooper.

And lol at "ohhhh magnetism is goooooood" I completely agree haha. My screwdriver is magnetic as well!

    Thanks for all the effort

in it's stock form, no, you can't. but with modding, almost anything is possible... haha...

It seems like the new " wave " of blasters are less 'boxy' and more rounded in the outer shell, as opposed to,basically, the whole of N-Strike range.
