You can get Fridge boxes for free + old wooden crates from the good guys in bayswater, and other similar shops. we used them for a nerf war in ringwood and it was great!

Im happy for you to come check out the space we have at the Church i work in but its not that big, having a staircase is only fun for about 3 seconds too, but if we did indoor outdoor it could work...and if i claim it as a youth activity it would be free.

Sorry mate we need a hall closer to the city to get more people to turn up, That why I was trying to get the Melba's Own 1st city of Camberwell scout group hall, but I email them two weeks ago and I have had no word back from them.

May I suggest a local YMCA (srsly) they're usually 5 bucks for a couple of hours to use the facilities.

OP: Any local / central that might be viable?

That's right, you did mention something about that. Still might worth a visit one day while a scout group is there.

Thanks boosted, I'd really like to see some success with this war. I know of a gym that can be rented but it's too far east, all those northern Nerfers will have to be rejected.

I'd love for this war to go ahead - it'll be my first one! (like those 'my first ___' toys and books)
Unfortunately, I can't help because I don't really know anywhere near me that would be suitable.

I work at a hotel that has some function rooms that can be joined together to make one long room. They usually use it for weddings and corporate events.

Take a look and if its suitable, I can ask the Functions Manager. She would hook us up with a good deal.

Its the Parkview Hotel on St Kilda Rd.

I have never done a war, and I only found this forum yesterday, so I dont even know if its suitable...

EDIT: I've just found out it would most likely be free or close to it.

What are some of the problems you run into with drywall?
The whole left side of the room is windows/doors out to a balcony, and the opposite side is doors out to the main hallway. I'm not actually sure what type of walls they are.
Excuse my ignorance. I've only ever nerfed at home.

How big would the room be if you put the folding walls away?

How long would we be able to use the room for and would we be able to use it at night time from say 4pm to say 10pm?

The three rooms connected are 196sqm.
We have weddings in there till 2300 with a DJ, so those times are totally fine. Wouldn't have to worry about noise or anything.
I told the functions manager it would be in use all day and she said that was fine, just depends what else they have on at the moment. For example, these are the same rooms that the AFL teams use when they stay, but they aren't back for a bit I think.

Whats the go with darts at a nerf war? BYO? Or is there a stash at the venue?
