    Don't engage the neck either.

You must be one hard-assed mofo!! I played paintball for a number of years, and I'd much rather take a paintball hit, than a dart from my Titan.

I fully support the use common-sense and not engaging at close distance/not aiming above the shoulder etc. But if you have concerns about your eye-protection shattering, I'd be re-thinking what you are wearing. Accidents do happen, so maybe your PPE (personal protective equipment) is inadequate. May I suggest the purchase of these safety glasses:

I can highly recommend these, as I've used them at work for the last decade. Very comfortable fit, good price, choice of tints, and medium impact resistance. Also, these guys are located in Sydney.

    Cheers,

Thanks for the tip off on those glasses, too bad that i dont have contact lenses, thus i have to wear googles with my glasses underneath.

But all my saftey glasses and googles in my house, are impact resistant and all have tanked my plugged BBUMB with snap caps, with no noticaible scratches. And my BBUMB shoots through cardboard boxes and a plastic cap from pringles (chips) so lol.

    Cheers,

I appreciate your opinion and after checking out the specs you wear, my safety specs also adhere to the same specification: AS/NZS 1337 Medium Velocity Impact. Dad has surplus pairs as he must wear these as a hydraulic technician. I assume you've deliberately fired at your glasses with your strongest weapon to ensure they are in fact adequate?

EDIT: After much deliberation and discussion I am now banning plugged weapons.

Let's just not be in a position pierce each other's eye protection, mmm? If you know your darts are exceedingly heavy, and that your blaster hits ranges of 50+m flat, would it not occur to you to NOT point it in someone's face when you're half a metre in front of them?

It's hard to get safety glasses that fit over prescription glasses - most of them are big and cumbersome, and never fit properly (so I've been told anyway). Alot of the guys I work with get hardened lens on their prescription glasses, with side shields as well. Maybe this is something that your parents may consider if/when you replace your current set of spec's

@Echoes - Yep, there's obviously common-sense involved. Like I said - accidents happen. I'm sure you guys aren't wearing eye protection because there are people who purposefully aim for the head - I'd imagine they'd be given the boot rather quick. (or the Buttstock of your LS!! )

@Synergie - Any medium-impact glasses should handle most things nerf-related. I haven't shot any with my Titan, I don't feel the need to as I don't attend wars. I've had these glasses save my eye-sight a number of times, with metal projectiles at much higher velocity than any dart. I too have worked with hydraulic's and know the associated risks, so the ones your Dad has would be perfect.

Really, I'm only trying to help out. Whilst I am new to Nerf, I've worked in Health and Safety for quite some time, and maybe the experience I have will prevent some poor bugger getting permanently disabled.

Thanks for the reassurance, I couldn't agree more we should minimize all the risks around our fine hobby.

Agree 100%. As I'm trying to build a Nerf community in a small town, the safety aspect is becoming quite an obstacle (mainly with parents). Last thing any of us need is someone having a major injury, and the media putting it's twist on the actual event.

Yeh, the cure time can be a pain in the ass, but definitely required.
