What type of darts do you use for your blasters?
Specify what foam, length, weight, tip, process of making them and which blasters you use them in.

This is a discussion topic, so discuss each others darts!

    I'll start:
I use 1 1/2" blue foam with 00 fishing sinker weights and glue domes. After I used up all my foam, I realised with a little help from some guys on here that I'd made a small mistake in making them, I wasn't very generous with the glue before putting the weight in, so I've broken a lot of tips off.. Sometimes, just the tip shoots, which is pretty dangerous.

Hope this is a good thread!

    Cheers,
    Cody

Streamlines (I run mostly stock weapons) for clip guns, and whistlers for pistols.

Heavy Silicone Darts (streamline length) OR Stinger Darts weighted with 3/8" washer and 9mm washer - the snap cap covers the metal bits of the washers and therefore making them safer. When the cap falls off - so does the washers which are placed in the snap cap. The snap cap diametre I use is 10mm'ish.

Yeah, snap caps are nice, but the plastic is pretty hard. I've got heavy silicone tips on the way, should be pretty cool. I reckon they'll remove the need for any other kind of darts, really.. Although, snap caps or Stefans will still be good for custom weight for range testes or long range shots or whatever.

"The plastic tip is hard". That is why they are called stinger darts. We generally use them or heavy silicone tips so people can actually FEEL being shot. It's one of the biggest issues for Nerf is when you play with stock darts - you can't really feel it in the heat of battle.

Oooooohhh, I get it now! Hahaa, I think I remember you saying somewhere about stinger darts and them being made to hurt and I thought, that's pretty harsh, hahaa. Now I get it, thanks man!

I use similar darts to Littlebro, with the following weights:

    0.7g - single washer
    1g - double washer
    1.16g - triple washer
    1.3g - small sinker
1.5g - small nut and double washer
1.8g - medium sinker and washer
    2.16g - split-shot sinker
    2.5g - large sinker

Obviously, sinker's are fully encased in glue. But I wouldn't use these in wars, really not worth the risk.

Waiting on some heavy and lite sili's, and will experiment with different length tails for weight.

Heavy sili's have arrived, and I've cut the tails very short. Stock weight was approximately 1.5 grams, which is a tad heavy for what I normally use. With the cut-down tails, each dart weighs approximately 1.26 grams, which is pretty close to the weight I use in my Longshot.

I'll do some range tests over the weekend between shifts.

    cheers,

Sweet man, sounds good. My stuff hasn't turned up yet, I guess I'm a lot further away than you, hahaa.

I would definitely recommend making custom darts, to be honest, they're about a billion times better. Streamlines suck in every way possible, hahaa.

I use 2" Inch blue foam with 00 fishing weight and a hot glue dome.

I use hot glue tip streamline.

I hope to soon use blue foam streamline with 00 fishing weight with snap caps.

I've converted some of your blue foam sinker-weighted darts in to snap cap stinger's. The weight is around 1.2 grams, which is approximately the equivalent of a small snap cap plus 3 washer's. The perfect weight for my Brass-breeched LS.

Yeh man, I use the wife's cooking scales. But if I need super-fine accuracy, I use the scales at the laboratory where she works.
