Hey Clunk, I was wondering, you you have an idea of when the brass could come in? Also, I bought the batts from DealExtreme last Friday as well and yesterday I went to track my items and it said they were waiting to get some in.

Sometimes it only takes a couple of days for them to get stuff in stock. Other times, considerably longer. I've been waiting 10 weeks now for some silicon grease...

I should have the brass by the end of the week, but with my current schedule, I don't expect to have any breeches fabricated until end of August/start of September.

Keep an eye on this thread for updates.

Just a question (the odds that I'll be buying soon are minimal, but I'm curious and may end up buying at a later date), would you be able to do a specialised comission on a Vulcan?

It would involve some rather unusual mods, including the addition of a shoulder stock and the placement of the batteries in said shoulder stock.

I'm considering doing it myself, but the odds of me screwing it up are huge, and you seem to know what you're doing.

So therefore, in a few months (read: when I have the money), if possible, I may (MAY) ask you to do something like that.

Don't feel obliged to respond to this post, I'm just curious as to whether you'd do something like that. I'd pay you well for it, obviously.

Hey, I'm always interested in new stuff mate, so at this point, I MAY accept!! haha

I've not modded a Vulcan, so it would be a pretty big learning curve all round.

    Cheers,

Nerf Stampede by Clunk in action:
Okay, so, I got this thing in the post. Sadly, I'd just missed the last war I had on, so had to wait for HvZ at my university. Wasn't sure if I could whip it out, but I found out a neat trick: If you load a streamline clip, and pull the trigger just once, it fires about the same range as a stock longshot horizontally. Any slight inclinations upwards, however, and holding in the trigger to fire more than one round makes a very strange difference (for reasons I cannot fathom) to about 65-70ft. You get a spread of about 5 meters at that range.

The rate of fire on this blaster really shines in Humans vs Zombies, though, and the voltage mod Clunk has done makes a close quarters tagging incredibly difficult; rather than being a target, you soon become someone people follow at missions and zombies clear a path for. If you thought it might make it boring, though, you'd be wrong. This means that whenever you're attacked, you get 5-8 zombies on you at once, to try take you down. The blaster handles short controlled bursts really well, and hasn't given me any motor issues so far, nor jamming difficulties. Two other folks with Stampedes at the war have had them modded by self or by a friend, but this has been pretty damn inferior workmanship. The voltage mod sounds terrible, the gun makes a horrible crunching sound and the other jams frequently from a varying rate of fire.

The paintjob is perfect, and the vibrant extra-orange tip added makes it really stand out more than the regular; just carry it around with that end poking out, and nobody gets too worried, even for such a big gun, including having to take it, very nervously, past the entire security patrol for the Tour de France run through melbourne CBD. Just a few nods, and one or two jealous glares. The camo is pretty sweet, and looks even better in real life, and the skulls on the clips look fantastic.

If you're going to be in a war where you need to run, gun, and take wild blind fire for a game like HvZ like I do, then this is the gun for you. Close quarters warfare will also be this blaster's best friend, as it can match most stock guns. If you're planning on having very stationary wars with little running and a lot of cover, then I'd probably recommend one of Clunk's longshots, but the advantages of this blaster is that you can get it certified for most non-eyewear battles without too much hassle. Have been shot in the eye with my myself, and the crotch twice when other people were having a go (only the eye shot by accident, the crotchshot guy was just a douche). Not pleasant, and not something I'd recommend with stinger darts, but with streamlines you'll come away fine.

In a tight squeeze, this is your best friend. What it lacks in subtlety, it makes up for in a hail of foamy death. If you've used another stampede, you'll be amazed how much Clunk's battery mod makes a difference to the weildyness of this blaster. Takes about three quarters of the weight off, meaning you can fire it with pretty much two fingers holding the whole gun, meaning you don't get left behind hauling the heaviest nerf gun behind the vulcan. While still heavier than a longshot, this thing is essentially a stock version of that on crack.

    Range: 8/10.
    Speed: 12/10.
    Appearance: 10/10
    Versatility: 10/10
    Weight: 9/10

It's actually a match-up to a Longshot I commissioned for a member earlier in the year. Funnily enough, he has CWC LS build no. 6, and now, CWC Stampede build no. 6...

Seeing as I've found a bit of spare time to make some unexpected advanced progress on my current commission's, I've decided to add another 2 blaster commission spots for my September/October run.

These will definitely be the last LongShot commission's I'll be doing this year, and most probably the last commission's on any blaster's at all for 2011.

    SEPTEMBER/OCTOBER COMMISSION PRE-ORDER's:

    Stampede 1 - Royal86.
    Stampede 2 - local.
    Stampede 3 - still available.
    Longshot 1 - azza13b.
    Longshot 2 - local.
    Longshot 3 - still available.
    Maverick 1 - azza13b.
    Maverick 2 - still available.
    Maverick 3 - still available.
    Maverick 4 - still available.

    Cheers,

Hey, I gather you get the gear for your darts from informer, rite? And are they just light darts with snapcaps? Those ones you sent with the ls fire great but the heads just blow right off if they hit anything solid at close range so I think i'm going to need a lot of them.

    Hey,

The darts are made up of inf0rm3r's blue foam, three washer's, and a small snap cap, hot-glued together.

There's nothing you can do to stop the heads snapping off from hitting solid objects at close range, but if you find the tip, you can re-heat it with a hot glue gun, and stick another piece of foam on.

    Cheers,

    CWC Longshot commission:

    Modding Level 1

    • Longshot blaster with 6-round clip only.

    • BT V2 spring and stock LS spring.

    • Reinforced boltsled with coat-hanger and aluminium lamination.

    • Brass breech, with 9/16 barrel, perfect for blue foam darts.

    • 6 x blue foam stingers - customised for my Longshot's.

    • Plunger padding, improved plunger seal, plunger head reinforcement.

    • Buttstock reinforcement (unable to be collapsed once this mod has been completed)

    Cost: $170

    Level 2

    • Custom camo paint job.

Choice of 4 standard colours, with gloss finish.
NB: I am unable to procure matte finish currently, but this may change down the track.

    Total Cost: $220

    Extras:

    • Basic stencilled name for extra charge of $5 to $10, pending on size. The CWC vampire skull logo will be stencilled for free.

I've been refraining from gluing the plunger head to the rod lately, to allow client's to confirm their spring combo choice upon testing. It's very quick to reinforce this area with epoxy adhesive once you've decided 100% on your choice of springs.

Ranges - generally I get around 130 feet with around a 5 degree elevation. With supplied darts, it is possible to reach ranges over 160 feet, but the purchaser will need to experiment with plunger seal. I can get it fairly close, but the final dialling-in will work better in the actual climate where the blaster will be used.

    CWC Stampede commission

    Modding Level 1

    • Stampede blaster with 2 x 18-round clips, shield and bipod.

    • 9kg spring upgrade.

    • Removal of AR's, air bleed hole covered.

    • Improved o-ring and plunger seal, with plunger buffer pad.

    • 4 x Trust/Ultrafire li-ion batt's and UF WF-139 charger (requires 240v fig.8 lead)

    • 16.8v power upgrade, with 9v snap wiring and 4 x AA battery holder.

    Extras:

    • Exchange of 18-round extended clips for 1 x Raider 35-round drum magazine.

    Cost: $160

    Level 2

    • Custom camo paint job.

Choice of 4 standard colours, with gloss finish.
Two-toned CWC vampire skull stencilled image (WIP - currently finding the best size for stencil)

    Cost: $210

    Extras:

    • Basic stencilled name for extra charge of $5 to $10, pending on size.

    • Painted Shield: $10 without skull on shield, $15 with skull.

    • Painted clips or AT drum: $15 without skull, $25 with skull (clips only).

    • Painted Raider drum: $25 for your drum, $50 and I supply the drum.

Ranges: 65 feet flat, 85 feet angled from hip (using custom-weighted blue foam stinger's).
ROF - approximately 5 rounds per second at 16.8v.

    Added Extra's for both commissions:

    Various scopes:

    • Adjustable zoom tasco scope for extra charge of $15

    • Non-adjustable tasco scope for extra charge of $10

    Hmmm...

At some point, I may be interested in a full set of custom commissions (I'm particularly interested in acquiring a Stampede with a custom stock and without the spring addition for use as a submachine gun, along with the custom Vulcan commission and a standard Spectre; I can supply the guns for all three).

So, may I ask, how much for the Spectre commission if I supply the gun?

I want to know so that I can work out how long It'll take to get the money together.

Depends on what you want done mate...

I'd say probably $20 - $25 if you want spring upgrade, AR's etc etc (just waiting on a price from inf0rm3r for the spring).

Add another $30 - $40 for paint job, if you're interested. This is only an estimate, as I've only painted one before, and can't remember how much of a pain in the ass they are to prep..

    Cheers,

    That works. Thanks.

It could be some months until I can get the money together for all three guns, although your prices are surprisingly cheap. I'll almost definitely have the money by christmas-time, so if I do decide to buy, my order will most likely be placed around then (assuming that no complications arise). Don't get too expectant, though; I may not end up ordering for various different reasons.

    Thanks for all the info!

Yeh mate, the Spectre isn't a big drama to mod, though if I remember correctly, the prep work was a bit tedious/pain in the arse!!

No problems with sussing out cost's etc. And if nothing comes of it, then it's no drama's. At least you've had the decency to let me know that you're just enquiring at this point.

Around Christmas will probably be fine if you do decide to go ahead with it mate.

    Cheers,

Oh, and Clunk, one last question for reference.

Do you accept PayPal? That seems to be my parents' preferred method of paying in situations like this (and I pay through my parents).

    Hey Reaper,

It's not my preferred method of payment, but I do use it when required, especially for the younger members.

    Cheers,

Yeh, I was pretty happy with the way the drums turned out. The stencilling isn't brilliant, but I think it's due to a different type of vinyl dye that I used. The normal dye didn't stick to the drums for some reason, yet it works fine on the clips..?

Still haven't had much interest in the last LS, but I wouldn't stress about it. After I complete the September run, I'll probably still do the odd LongShot here and there. I figure by then, I'll be kept fairly busy with local commission's for a bit, but will still be interested in doing commission's for previous clients especially.

    Cheers,

Those people who currently have commission's with myself, please contact me at
    Clunkweaponsco@hotmail.com

FAirly certain I won't be a member for much longer here, until either silent scope pulls his head in, or crosses over to AN full time. This would be the obvious choice for him geographically.

All commission's will go ahead as normal, just communication lines will need to change after SS bans me.

    Cheers,
