Post  Mozart Wed Apr 27, 2011 12:30 am

I think I've developed insomnia, so I'm really bored..

What type of clip do you use/prefer/like?
Can be anything. Single barrel, hopper, RSCB, inline, N-Strike clip/drum, turret. Anything you use to load a dart into your blaster.

Be informative as to why you like it, don't judge, discuss!

I personally love brass slide breaches, although I haven't had the pleasure of using one yet ): getting my first tomorrow. I love how smooth they seem to be, very sleek and stylish. Easy to load, easy to operate.

Also really like RSCB's, unfortunately haven't had the pleasure of using one of those yet, either. Nice sleek look, unlike a hopper which sticks about a kilometre off the top of your blaster. Not sure which is better for air output, although it seems obvious that the brass breach would be.

    please respect each other.
    Enjoy!

They all have their ups and downs. For example, the Rader drum has a nice capacity but sticks out like a sore thumb, you have to shake an RSCB every time you want to fire.

I like using AT drums if I'm using stock darts. I just use 6 dart clips for my brass breeched Longshot, because you can get stefans to work in them very easily. RSCB's are really easy to make, but they reduce air output. On the other hand they reload relatively quickly.

I can only speak from experience, so I prefer the 6 shot clip system fitting into a 20mm conduit breech which was PETG inside. I tried a Raider drum and it sways a bit too much. Need to try it with a Stampede clip and an AT drum, but yeah that works for me and all my couplered guns.

I have an LS brass breech sitting in my room somewhere, waiting to be installed. I'm a bit worried as to how the 'soft' metal will stand up to the rigours of my constant reloading.

But like CS said, it really does depend. Also depends on your game style, game modes you're playing.

Yes, that is the big problem with the raider drum and the 18 dart clips that come with the stampede, THE SIZE.
But probably my favorite clip for N-Strike guns is the 18 round drum, just because it has the same
capacity as the stampede clip but without taking up as much space.

As for homemade clip systems I think that the hopper clip is best because of it's simplicity and
    it's effectiveness.

When using my Alpha Trooper, I definitely prefer the 18 clip, but for my longstrike or recon, 6 clips are also nice.

No idea about homemade clips though.

Lol, contrary to believe you do NOT have to SHAKE the RSCB when you fire it. You only need to 'point it down'. The only reason people "SHAKE" it is because they do not make an adequete 'funnel' for the dart to get trapped in. For example, I am able to fire my RSCB Triple Shot at 2 rounds per second :).

Refer to my BBUMB guide for how an RSCB works :).

I just re-read your RSCB/BBUMB guide again, man, that funnel thing is so simple! I would have done the same thing if I had made one, it just seems like common sense. If you don't do it, you're more likely to have misfires. Honestly, I hate N-Strike clips. So bulky and stupid looking, although I have just finished my clipped Barricade, so I'll probably use use them a little. Hoppers stand out like shit, though! Hahaa. I'd take an RSCB any day.

    Keep 'em coming! (:

Pretty much all I have at the moment are clips because my Stampede and AT use them, but I'm interested in trying to make a chopper some time. Sounds like the best of an RSCB and a hopper to me. Of course, streamline length darts will probably be out if I do make one.

Although the chopper seems to be designed for '1.5inch' or less stefans. I believe the RSCB does NOT lose a noticable amount of range when it gets to the last dart.

I'm an N Strike clip fan. I like them all apart from the raider drum as I find it too bulky.

If it's aligned correctly and lubed up a bit you can be pretty damn rough with it without any worries. Once you get it in you will never look back. Ever!

I use 1 1/2" darts, the chopper looks so cool. I saw it on a Crossbow and it fit perfect!

Yeah LB, is there any power drop at all and does the power drop differ between different powered blasters? If that makes sense..

I like all the N-strike mags. Raider drum is fine on anything but the raider.

For the most part I rock a recon with 6 shot mags as a side arm and a AT with raider and AT drums.

Someone needs to come up with a speed loader for mavericks/spectres.

Well fully removable barrels would be the way to go for the maverick. Then you would have to sacrifice turrets off other mavericks or keep an eye on the sales tread for them.

I prefer quantity over anything else as I usually play an attacking role. I prefer to avoid the awkward moments where I run out of ammo 3 metres from the opponent. N-Strike clips for me.

Noticed you guys all seem to love the reverse plunger guns, is it just because they're so easy to use? I will admit, I love the look of the AT and the Raider I have is pretty fun. Just can't get any decent performance out of them.. I may actually sell my clips and all that junk soon. Not too keen on posting stuff, though ):

Reverse plungered guns? The only 2 people look at are the AT and raider. The AT because it has great stock range and for the valuable 18 Drum. The Raider just for the 35 Drum. Other reverse plungered guns (Recon, Longstrike) are hopeless. At least a Longtrike would be cool with an internal swap. I don't see the point of a recon.

    I actually hate them LOL.
BUT they do have some nice designs and they look cool.
And by the way, the Alpha Trooper has to be the highest performing Reverse Plunger Blaster.
Since it is long ranged for a Reverse Plunger has Slam-fire,
And is hard to jam..................Unless your Xeonz LOL

Well Xoenz got a very "special" AT. It is the greatest in terms of stock range. There aren't any great mods worth doing to it. I remember SS wanted to do something involving brass and petg but I don't know how that went.

Reverse plungered blasters perform very well indoors. The AT and Raider can pump out several darts in one burst. If you have the courage to rush against the Big Blast anyway. I've noticed when people are rushed, they either point their gun down to try to dodge, OR the rain of darts make their aim falter.

The Recon is a little lame imo though. The priming isn't very 'comfortable'. Pump action is probably the best way to go for any Nerf Blaster.

The discs wouldn't have to have too much propulsion to go 100ft since the nature of a disc being more able to cut through the air, much like a frisbee

Hahaa, fair call, I guess, but it's not exactly relevant, seen as though no body has used them? Maybe I should have specified, foam darts only..

They'll work like a tube that you stack the disks in, spring at the bottom, or gravity load from the top. Just like a N-Strike clip. But it's just a lame tube full of shit disks.

I predict it will be similar to N-strike clips. A spring pushing up a column of discs. The solid, unchanging shapes of the discs, means small slots can be introduced for quick reloading. Similar to the new Dart Tag line, except with Discs.

Linking back on topic, has anyone got experience with the internal clips of the new DT Blasters?
