I'm looking for a scouts hall to hire for an indoor for about 30 to 40 people to war in.

So put your vote in so I know what hall to hire so I can get this ball rolling.

The war will go from like 4pm to 12am on a Friday or Saturday night.

At the moment I have to wait to see which hall wins the vote so I know which scout hall to ring to get a hall hire cost.

My preferred venue would be Heathmont hall because I live closest to it.

It will around say $20 per head that will include darts, some Food and drink's.

Luke wrote:Can we start at 2 and finish at 10?

Why do we need to start at 2 and finish at 10 Luke?

Remember it will be in the school holiday's so we should be able to play to 11pm at night.

Yeah you find most of them but darts tend to get purely destroyed. Because you have people running on a hard surface they step on most of the darts.

Can people please put their vote in so I can work out what hall we are using?

I do have some bad news too,so I call the hall in Heathmont and they told me it not a hall it a scouts head office for that area, but the person on the phone told me of two more scout halls in Heathmont, So I phone one of the hall and I got I hire cost for a hall in Heathmont,So It will be $500 bond and $150 a night.

I'm happy too put up the bond, but if anything get broken in the hall they are going to have to pay me back for what owner of hall take out of the bond after the war.

Heathmont would be the best for me, but I am pretty flexible.

Weekdays would be out for me, but the weekends should be ok, subject to wifeys work roster.

The scout hall in Heathmont is not a scout hall it the head office for the scout in that area, So Heathmont is a no go.

I try ringing the scout hall in Blackburn but no one pick up the phone so I will have to call them again.

I have not called the scouts hall in Camberwell yet because I have only 1 vote for it.

It looks like Blackburn scouts hall from the vote at the moment.

Well, ring the both of them anyway just to see if we have confirmation of being able to have a war in either location. Then let the votes decide by the end of May to see which one it is that we're going to attend, whilst keeping the other venue as a backup.

    More Bad News Guys.

So I went to the National Tradesman's Expo today and on the way home I have a quick look at the hall in Blackburn, It not a scout hall it a church.

So when I got home I call the Camberwell scout hall and their phone number is a dead, It tell you to check the number and try again.

So then I look at scout Australia website and I found a scout hall ten mins up the road at Cnr. Shierlaw Ave. & Faversham Road

    CANTERBURY, VIC, 3126

    Awesome!

If this is in a good time period for year 12's, I could probably get me and like 5-6 friends to come to this!

    Couple of things though:
If you can, try to book out a place that has multiple rooms ect, rather than just a one big room with a big empty space in it. If you know anyone with good connections (no, not a robot), you should try to get them to ask someone about booking it.

Up in Bendigo, we regularly have wars at the Baptist Church and the Salvation Army Hall. Both are fantastic Nerf War arenas, as they have heaps of rooms and stuff.

After you guys decide on a place and date, I can tell you if we are comin. If it's in a boring hall, we probably won't attend :/

Harkaway might be a good place for you, and it certainly is for me, but the majority of players are teenagers without their own transport; looking at the locations of players, I'd think that Harkaway would be difficult for most people to get to by public transport in a reasonable amount of time; especially, for example, on a Sunday morning.

I'm slowly getting my act together and plan to hold semi-regular gatherings "soon". Currently I'm investigating locations in the area very roughly bounded by Doncaster, Croydon, Narre Warren, and Cheltenham.

Because I live in the east, I'm looking for locations that are convenient for me, that might be suitable for other people as well. I'm aiming for parks with toilets within five minute's walk of a train station.

That cuts down the possibilities quite a bit, but hopefully will make them accessible to more people.

    cheers,

    aro

The scout hall at Cnr. Shierlaw Ave. & Faversham Road CANTERBURY, VIC, 3126,

Is now a dead-end I got an email from them and they said to me that we don't hire the hall commercially.

So here is the new scout hall I am looking into hiring Melba's Own 1st city of Camberwell scout group halls.

How much to hire one of those?

I don't have a cost for the hall yet I'm waiting on an email back from them to get availability date's and cost for the hall.

I have no barriers at the moment but the hall is book I will start making some.
