There's some good pointers in there that I'm sure will fix my friction issue.

By too long to prime I just mean the effort required to pull it back is too much.

Oh and FYI, whilst everyone originally thought the V2 spring was a 14Kg load, it is actually more like 11.5Kg - I think I'm the one who started the whole 14Kg thing too. I must have calculated it wrongly first time round - my bad.

    No worries,

But remember if you need help, PM me.

I'm sticking with my spring at 15kg (but it could be calculated differently as well, they come up with different conclusions the spring designers), so you'll have to take your curlers out and toughen up

I'm getting some wicked results out of a standard breach and am looking forward to running it with a good brass breach.

I imagine that a hard hitting 90-110 ft pump action LS will own, that's what I'm going for.

I still haven't forgot your PVC stampede breach, by the way.

    Been thinking that over heavily...

Longshot Pump Action Kit - Page 2 Empty Check the front slots

Post  RePete Wed Aug 24, 2011 2:02 pm

I recieved my PA kit last week and the front slots were quite tight. In fact it was difficult to get the bolt to pass through the hole so I gave the slots a quick file until the bolt passed through and moved freely along the slot.

It now works fine and is not to hard to prime with a BTV2 spring but my 12 year old nephew finds it tough.

It does add some serious weight the the blaster and makes it feel less toylike which I find pretty cool. Overall a great bit of gear and for the price I couldnt justify trying to make somthing myself even though I have the tools and skills.

Having designed and manufactured small run slot car products I know how much work goes into bringing stuff like this to market and at $50 (inc postage) these are not overpriced

Well done oznerfnerd!! Cant wait to see what you bring out next

OzNerfNerd thank you so much for taking the time to make up these brackets.
i field tested mine the other day and i cant get over how well it performs.
i have a SS+ stock spring in my LS and it isnt a problem to prime all day.

    i totally recommend them. kudos!!

    RePete/Sniper X,

I really appreciate your comments, thank you very much.

There were some cases of slaggy laser cuts (not many, but it did happen), and I was a little dissapointed with the supplier this time, as the samples were perfect.

I also went for a very tight (0.1-0.2mm) tolerance in the bolt/slot dimensions, which worked perfectly with the samples.

If I do them again, I'll up the tolerance to 0.3-0.4mm and mention to the supplier that there were a couple of slaggy one's in the last batch.

We got a lot of good feedback on these, but did get 3 (out of 30) customers who had minor problems with the clearance issue.

If we do them again that issue will be resolved.

Yes, the price is fair. If anyone tried to make one off, they'd spend 60-80 bucks easily and there would be many hours put into it.

My 10yo can cock it with the V2 in it, but not quite with my 15kg spring. Almost.

For a teenager up, it's a battle cannon.

    In this video below:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jTS12OcRKzY

You can see it in action.

While most of the video is our hopped up stampedes, I have a pumped LS (my spring) and so do the kids (V2 Spring).

You can't really see the darts much, but they were hitting hard.

With a brass breach I wouldn't use them inside at all.

I was using BT "Fer de Lance" darts to avoid damage/injury, and have since made some custom heavy tips that hit much harder and more accurately.

Next product is a Long Shot spring kit. Springs have been ordered and are good.

I'll probably do a run of them every third-fourth month.

I spent too much time designing the f%&*kers to never make them again.

If/when I'm doing it again, I'll give plenty of notice on the forum.

    I appreciate your interest.

    Cheers,
