Just had my longshot upgraded to 'tier 3' status which is epic, however I quickly ran in to a weird break.
As you can see the orange nub that connects the boltseld to the brass breach has snapped in half.
This I believe has happened for a few reasons:
1. The longshot is old, like at least 4 years old. It has spent a lot of time sitting around and the time it didn't it has been through some very heavy wars. It has probably been fired over 10,000 times.
2. The alu bolt sled seems to cause a bit more resistance and tension on the whole priming process.
3. There may have been some stress or a random fracture on that part.
4. The epoxy may not have fully set yet :p
Either way I thought I would bring it to everyone's attention as another possible part that could break on the current standard 'tier 3' longshot setup. Super springs are all awesome but the plastic might not hold forever.
I am hoping this does not happen to anyone else but I will be curious if older longshots start to go over time. Maybe it will be something to look into making alu or even part of the bolt sled in the future.
