Damn 24hrs. I still havent finished campaign. But multiplayer is a lot of fun.
I must admit, even though an xbox will never have the graphics power of a PC, i'm still very impressed by the old girl.

Re: Battlefield 3
Just finished campaign. Seriously whats the deal with the hand to hand combat? The very last scene i failed 4 times before i finally got it. Press A, Right Trigger, Press B, arrrgh great way to ruin a good game, i nearly threw the control!
Anyway, i liked how it ended, but the hand to hand combat is just stupid. A challenge with a pistol, etc, would have been much better.

Yeah I felt that last part was a bit shitty as well, even on PC.
Now I need to sacrifice my whole social life for multi, 655 kills in 10 hours so far.
If any of you PC guys want to squad up add me.

Anyone on PS3? add: royal86247
I must admit I choked when I started Campaign on HARD.... fml
Getting killed with 2-3 shot's so frustrating.. then restarting the level you can sort of pick where they are gonna be, which I think they should of had random spawn points.
Also, I agree about the CQC. Im not really sure if they should have added that or have it included along with the cinematics only, not so much part of gameplay.
In Campaign mode I think there's a few element's from COD with the interactions and cinematics but think it was abit short?
One frustrating problem that really sticks out when I was playing last night..
In the Mall defending Bashir and when the PLR breach the mall I take them all out but when I go out to the Osprey the screen glitches to a white screen so Im running around like a fncking idiot. Took me about an hour to figure it out... arrgghhh!
Flying in Jets is awesome and the controls (pitch/yaw) are finicky but when you get the hang of it it gets much easier. Pretty hard to take things out with a cannon but doing sweeping runs on roof top snipers!!!
Good/Bad point about multiplayer that I've found due to my play style.
Good: it takes more than one strike to kill with the knife BUT if you get the Kill animation then you kill with one swipe but are open to fire during the animation.
Bad: Trying to swipe with the knife to get the animation but only get a girly 'swipe' at the enemy. Then they realise that some idiot is trying to stab them and blasts me away.
Good: Tac Flashlight's and RDS
Bad: Tac Flashlight's and RDS beams in your face, argghhh
Good: Prone
Bad: Prone, nuff said
The scoring system really shows how people play so you cant OMA and Rambo everyone. To be successful it requires great strategy, team work and communication. It also helps to be good on the end of a gun.
eg Someone with 20-2 but have a really lowly score due to not playing within the squad, not completing objectives, resuppling etc
Multiplayer is pretty badass /thread

Sorry dude! Haha, should of said that earlier. I misread -_-. I would of got the reference if I play FPS games. I'm more of an RTS gamer.
Anyway, checkout those videos, it's very entertaining.

Re: Battlefield 3
Having picked up a copy on thursday on a whim ($68 from Big W), I must say, this is probably the most enjoyable Battlefield game I have played yet. Story was amazingly better than BFBC2, and besides those dodgy quick-time sequences, was a rather enjoyable campaign.
Dare I say it, I enjoyed the story as much as the MW series, although the Dima sections were what really bought the story to life, imo.
Haven't been able to get on MP yet, but I will in the next few months, once my internet decides to cooperate with my xbox.

I flew the fighter jets and heli's for the first time last night, damn i couldnt jump off, i am now hooked. Flying around is pretty easy, but locking onto enemy planes, etc is another thing entirely, but i'm getting there. Best multiplayer game i've played yet, just awesome.

Yeah it is great. I got my joystick setup out just to learn how to fly helis better. I am good enough to capture points with them. Helicopters should be so low that you are cutting of an infant's legs with the rotor blades but for some reason people like to fly so high I think they are trying to visit the ISS.
Anyways nearly up to being able to fly inside the cave in the peek map. Probably another 1-2 weeks. Should hit lvl 30 soon too woo.
As a side note, the IR scope is total BS. I rekon in a week or so everyone will be running around with it.

Re: Battlefield 3
Conquest is awesome.
EA servers...pathetic.
I was playing Conquest last night. Our team was behind, just before the game ended i got the MVP achievement, but i didnt get to see my K/D ratio or anything, obviously we won but i'm really tired of the servers dropping out. Also the aussie servers are full ALL of the time when you browse the servers, unbelievable.
Now that MW3 is out, the servers hopefully wont be as full.

Re: Battlefield 3
I haven't had a problem with aussie servers being full all the time, but man the EA service is getting worse.
Beta, no dropouts great
First week, servers die randomly
Second week, Servers die randomly even more, kicked from random servers, unable to connect half the time
Hell I got kicked from a game I was playing because it was full. It was full? Of course it was full, I was in it before it was and it filled up.
A couple other things I hope they fix but they probably wont:
Rocket on infantry point blank, kills the person that gets hit but not the person who shoots it. Got way to many guys who think they are playing quake/tf2.
When you go to spawn on a teammate and he dies the instant you hit the spawn button and it spawns you at base.
I have noticed some people with a score per minute of over 800, no idea how that is possible (maybe hacked servers?).
Hopefully EA/DICE get in and fix this (among other things) and don't just leave it like they did BC2.
Otherwise still having a blast, unlocked smoke for my under-barrel grenade launcher which is just killer for attack on rush (not really useful at all for conquest). Nearly got all of the tank unlocks and almost finished with my second full class unlock (assault).

Re: Battlefield 3
I've finally mastered the flying of the helicopters, its great if one of your friends is on the ground and you give him support. I had to play a Co-Op mission to get the jist of the helicopter though.
I've nearly unlocked everything on the tanks also, 2 unlocks to go. I only just unlocked flares for the heli's.
Assault class is great, i get a kick out of reviving team mates with the fibbies.
Have you ever gotten the Biggest Loser Achievement? Its when you get zero kills, but you still finish with the highest score of the game. I spun out when i got that, rest of the team would have gone what? Ha ha. Thats one of the secret achievements lol. : )

Re: Battlefield 3
Finished the campaign last week. It was pretty good, although I would have liked the ending to e a little more satisfying.
I've been sniping heaps on multi, I actually like how the bullet drops from a distance.
I always get annoyed, though, when I spawn on a teammate and then just get spawnkilled. I play rush more than anything, although I'll play a little conquest here and there.

Don't expect me to be brilliant at it, my KD is like 1.1 and W/L is very similar. I do however love squad based infantry tactics and support gadgets, instead of being a sniping faggot, so if that's up your alley drop me a line.

Re: Battlefield 3
Im mostly on Rush aswell but have been venturing out into Conquest here and there. Re Rush
To the dudes complaining about getting spawn killed, do you watch your team mates cam to see what their situation is before you re-deploy?
I find it frustrating that people rather spawn on me, when Im under fire, then the beacon that's been placed out of sight. BANG 4 squad wipe and then all that hassle to fight up to the objective is lost. Start again.
Another 'tactic' that I think is dirty when Engineers spam the vehicle spawn area with Mines.
I mean they literally spam the whole area. Anytime a vehicle would take off, A. Vehicle Disable or B. Enemy Killed, I got that frustrated that I swapped teams to see how they played.
The Attackers Base was coloured in with the mine symbol and about 4 players spawn camping the Base.
So easy enough I just quit.
On the other hand when you have a squad that has some sort of direction with what their weapons and equipment are capable of and use all of their inventory to the advantage of the team.
T-UGS on the perimeter of the objective. Beacon in low traffic area, close to objective. Claymore on entry doorway to objective. Possible C4 on objective. Team mates actively spotting infantry and vehicles.
Thats another Major Payne! People who don't actively spot.
I've been in the Jet with AIR RADAR which brings up all Friendly / Enemy Aircraft and Ground Vehicles. You can see the enemy ground units on the radar but not a visual until a ground team mate spots.
I've sat in the Jet and made numerous fly-overs but couldn't get a visual until I'm about 5 meters off the ground so I really couldn't utilise each fly over. I sort of felt like a douche.
All I can think of at the moment.

Re: Battlefield 3
haha, I thought about doing that last night. I learned to fly choppers in an almost empty server, and just practiced capturing bases with the scout chopper. I definitely prefer the scouts over the attack choppers, they seem much slower but easier to fly.
I haven't really ventured into rush yet, might do that right now.

Re: Battlefield 3
I try to stick to TDM because no one plays as a team. It pisses me off when I have to switch to an engineer because no one can take down the tank or AP. Though I've gotten pretty good at playing the Assault/medic class. Most of my TDM games are KD 3+. I can't wait till my friends get it so we can actually play the squads right.
