Ok. So I don't know if i'm speaking on behalf of anyone eles but with the flaunting thread, I want to be able to send and recieve feedback of things I post there.
"Flaunting it" and knowing if it's good or not.

I'm not begging for a change but I think it would be a good upgrade.

Even though people can just PM you for feedback, it doesn't happen. Don't know why.

If we could at least think about allowing feedback or making a thread on your personal mod or paintjob (might be overdoing it on that one).

    Anyone?
(If i'm talking out of line, just lock it)

Not out of line at all in my opinion. Everyone is free to discuss changes they think will be good as long as they are in a constructive matter.

While I have also felt the want to post feedback I do normally PM it. Though I do wonder if letting people will work well or will it turn in to a heap of:

    *Person posts picture*
    Neat
    Awesome
    Wicked mod
    Excellent
    How did you mod it?
    Answer
    Etc

Is that a good or bad thing? I don't know. Personally I don't see the harm in, at least, trying it out and seeing if it works. Worst case it ends up messy and annoying and we just go back to the old way and I delete the posts that were made (or leave them, whatever).

Either way the decision is not up to me but I think it is a good idea. Will have to see what the Admins think as ultimately it falls to them.

If anyone is against this please post a constructive reply, I am more interested in what the community as a whole thinks.

Anyone who has other suggestions feel free to suggest (in another thread) but I would advise against making it a poll. This isn't a popularity contest, it is a discussion, by being constructive and making a great valid point that has little counter points will something get through. Much more than a ton of people hitting vote mindlessly.

Well, i'll take the poll off and to clear the clutter we can do what we did with the question thread. By making a section for faunting so that all the comments will be in 1 thread per set of pics.

The whole idea of the flaunting thread was to allow people to show off their gear, and for light discussion to follow. If people stick to what joey has already outlined, there won't be any issues.

There won't be one thread per pic. If your blaster is good enough to deserve it's own thread, there had better be an original write-up accompanying it.

    Cheers,

That would be fine but the flaunting thread includes "picures only please" on the title...

And the very first post says to please keep it nerf related, and light discussion is allowed. You'll note that nowhere in the thread or the title does it say that member's will be banned/disciplined for light discussion.

Well I think it's a great idea provided that feedback is constructive and helpful and not just (as Joey said), 'thats awesome', 'great' etc.

I'm fairly new here but thought I'd weigh in. I love the thread showing peoples work, but there has been a multitude of times I've wanted to comment / ask the modder a question and obviously you can't. A thread where you're allowed to would be cool, or if mods are worried the thread will spiral into one word responses each time someone posts a picture, maybe having members start their own flaunting thread, where only they can post pictures, but everyone can comment (and or post pictures of their related works). I think Brian did this and it worked really well?

    That's my 2 cents

Problem solved (changed the title a bit so people are less confused).

Now my question is can this migrate to the modding thread, or should we keep it to the flaunting thread for now and see how we go?

Thanks for hearing us out. And for some reason, i can't remove the poll in the first post.

I think the problem here is that when people post a mod... some times they don't post pictures, or they post one picture with little description, etc.

If they want to make a completely new thread, they should AT LEAST document a step by step process of how they made it. Take Captain Crooks for example. His 'from scratch' clip fed barricade was pictorial, but also descriptive. Where as some people just post one sentence saying "this is what I did" with no pictures.
