Priming is a bit sloppy, in my opinion, but the priming rod is sturdy, and doubles as a safety lock which is cool, I guess. You pull down on the bulb at the bottom until it clicks loudly, then you push it back up, then you fire. It's in the second video I put down there (the modified version video). Effective, but nothing to speak of for aesthetics or stealth. Still, I've seen worse.

I have tried it with Nerf Darts, however, as with any Lanard products, they don't actually fit; if you try to put the dart into the gun and rotate the cylinder, it won't move. Putting it in through the barrel shows that it will indeed fire, but not nearly as well as it does with the Lanard Standards. I'd wager that the gun takes Cut Down Stephens and fires 'em right good, but I can't guarantee it since I have none in my possession.

Also, I have no internal photos, unfortunately. As I said in another thread, all I did to modify this thing was the minimization, the tightening up of the barrels with a few coats of lacquer, and the boring out the narrow barrel to decrease resistance on the way out. I thought these things were a lot more common and didn't think to take photos. I'll take it apart tomorrow or Sunday and get some pics for you all and add them to the top post.

It's in the Mod video. Watch it, there's a shooting demo. But yes, it's the cylinder.

If I comprehend this correctly, the Nerf darts are too long for the cylinder.

It looks like it uses the same darts as the Lanard Shell Shock X-6, which are about 1cm shorter than a Nerf streamline dart.

Oceania? I haven't heard that term for yonks.
I guess it depends on how and where you are educated, and how you designate geopolitical regions.

Hi, to the folks on the Pacific islands, if you're around.

That it does. They're a little more than a centimeter shorter. Also, I cut down a Nerf dart to size and, no shock, it didn't work. I don't know why, but I rarely have any success with doing that. >.>

The main reason I use 'Oceania' is because, as an evolutionary anthropology student, that's how the region is generally referred to in 'the field'. My academic jargon tends to overflow into my daily... um... also jargon. But yeah.

I'm not so great with the CO2 myself, but I couldn't agree more in the case of someone with some experience with the stuff.

    That's strange.
I don't know about the dimensions and weights of the darts, but those Lanard darts have a larger hollow diameter than a Nerf dart.
It may matter if the air restrictors are still on (thicker AR posts, position of airflow, etc.).

If you could do that, and get decent maverickish ranges, you would have built a sidearm that i think would sell for maybe over $150au.

Alright, so, I got the internal pics but the light sucked and my chihuahuas pretty much attacked the gun the second it was open so I had to work from scratch. Of course the SECOND I finally fix the damn thing I come across this:

    Lanard Rotator X-8 Information DSC00651

It's a brighter, better version of the pics I took. :p

At any rate, I also took out the Air Restrictors (on which I was totally wrong about; I thought they had restriction plates ,turns out they're just standard AR's that can be whacked out with a hammer n' screwdriver) and got maybe another 5-10 feet of range, but as expected with that kinda thing lost a bit of accuracy. Still worth it, just be prepared.

I'm curious about that plunger rod.
Is it a solid rod, or an extendable one?

If solid, that rod is wasting some valuable plunger volume, as you need to push it back in to ready it.

It's a solid rod, and you do need to push it back in to fire. It's a waste of space, probably, but at my current Internal Modification Skill Level, I can't myself do anything to better it... which is why I gave y'all this post. :p

    Hmm...

just wondering why you lost accuracy when you removed it's air restrictors. I'm guessing it could be because with more power available, and the lack of a lengthy barrel by which the dart travels through, it's not necessarily going to go straight.

I'd be up for opening this one and seeing what I can do with my limited modding skills! I'd need to do my scouting in TRU, Target, and Kmart to find it.. I've never seen this one before in shelves

I bought a clear one today at Myer.
It wasn't on the shelves, so I asked the friendly clerk there, if they had it in stock.
And so, it was in the storeroom.

Anyways, I was not too pleased with it initially, as it produces massive fishtails at least once with a fully loaded cylinder.
One time, it even flew like this.

Observe my 4th shot (more visible in HD and full screen).

I kind of fixed it by accidentally dropping it on the floor, though. o_O

The priming rod is like a flat plastic strip about 7.5mm wide and 3mm thick.
It's got some flex in it, and after about 100 shots, the stress marks on the plastic appear on the rod, (1) at the point where the bulb is attached to the rod, and (2) on the rod where it meets the bottom of the handle when fully primed.
Perhaps, I was priming it too roughly...

Fishtailing isn't totally abnormal with it, though weirdly I had the same 'Drop-Fix' experience with mine. I've never seen a clear one before, that's really cool O.O Just from the sond on the video is does sound like you're priming it pretty hard, but I think that's more a statemenet about the construction of the gun than your caretaking abilities... it's Lannard. This is a company known for unique designs and thiiiiin plastic. >.>
