Ah the Dart Tag Blaster. Such a great little blaster. With them being dirt cheap at the toy sales that went on, I thourght I'd do a little writeup if you want to soup them up a little more.

    you will need
-x1 Dart Tag blaster (OF COURSE!!!)
-30 inches of K&S 17/32 brass tube (thats two and a half tubes worth. Not cheap, but it makes this mod alot eaiser)
-2 Part Epoxy glue (prefect for bonding brass to plastic)

    Tools:
    Screwdriver
    small half round File
Something to cut the brass tube (Hacksaw, Pipe cutter, Rotory tool etc.)

Sorry about the few images. My camera memory card was pretty full.

    Step 1:
Cut 10 brass tube sections into 3 inch lenghts (stacking them into a cool Pyramid optional)

    Step 2:
Open the blaster, and remove the Turret. And remove the 5 screws. which are in the 5 holes around the outside, not the 10 holes. they are for air.

    Step 3:
Once open, the air restrictors will fall out. Banish them to a very deep layer of hell.

Now you can fit the brass tube into the holes where the AR's where. The brass fits into those holes perfectly, if they are free from burrs. So make sure you file the cuts down with a flie so they fit.

Then use the 2 Part Epoxy glue to bond the barrels into the holes.

    Step 4:
Put it back toghether. You don't need to worry about the orange thingy which had the old barrels in it.

    Looks brutal don't it

I did a quick range test with taggers.
It now gets around 15 meters (49 feet) Flat
Stock it hits 12 meters (39 feet) Flat

I'll do a much more comprehesive range test later.

Nice modification :D. Another idea to add to my modification booklet. By the way... I heard that you can use Crayola Markers as barrels as it fits 1/2" stefans very well... have you tried that before? Since here in Brisbane I haven't been able to find those brass tubes (if anyone does know where to buy it... give me a yell).

I reckon you could get more distance to about 70ft+ if you replace / double up the spring and replace the O-Ring... it's the best thing to do with spring powered nerf guns. You have also tempted me to buy a pack :(... to bad I'm going to finish term 3 because it's my most important term of my schooling before I get into nerfing. :(.

Yeah you can use Crayola textas as barrels. Ive used one on my nitefinder before, but i put it in the wrong way around so it was too tight. The thing you have to remember with crayola barrels is that they are tapered so you need to put the wider part facing out. Stock nerf barrels are also like this.

Alright thanks for the advice... with your information and constant research, my knowledge nerf modifications is slowly expanding :). Thanks... I can't wait till I get into this hobby after grade 12 is over.

Oh by the way, this is a bit off-topic but where do you buy your foam backer rod from?
