That is true. Maybe they'll come up with some new designs after all, because I swear to god if I see one more line of repaints I'm gonna scream

As much as I am excited by the promise of these new upcoming 'remakes' ... at the same time I'm a bit skeptical.

First of all; 75ft range? .... HOW?

Obviously this is the question on every Nerfer's mind, but aside from the previous comments made like better springs / seals / AR removal... I really cannot see how they could accomplish this. Especially with the 'super strong spring' or 'direct plunger system' idea; if the spring was too tough how are kids supposed to prime them, and possibly risk damaging the blaster in the process? And the whole internal structure of the blaster would need re-working to accomodate direct plunger *in an existing shell designed for reverse plunger*

If anything, I tend to agree with the "50 ft flat, 75 ft angled" concept. Just remember with the Vortex line how the "extra long range" advertising went down: sure, it CAN go the distance (due to the frisbee design that can glide), but is it really EFFECTIVE once it reaches those distances?

Secondly, the other issue I'm a bit tetchy about is the darts... sure, if they are a little bit weighted or use lighter foam, yay! BUT! Notice on the art work *and* the 'design' preview image; they still have the safety hole in the orange tip... welp, there goes your accuracy even if it does go to those ranges. Even in a Longshot with basic mods, standard streamlines fish-tail and lose accuracy like crazy... I can't imagine these darts will go 75ft *and* still be reliably accurate (unless there is some sort of secret design change; wait and see).

Those niggling criticism's aside, I'm all for an improved system (if this is indeed the case) for better ranges. Just think of how we can mod it to further improve it
Plus, I am interested in that 25 dart drum and the Retaliator's stock and foregrip. It's the little things that count too

I'm with you Zandor - the stock and 25 dart drum will be really good.

Am I the only person thinking "Hey, some really cool new shells for air tank integrations..."

    Cheers,

Yeh, because we've had blue recon's for years with a fixed stock that actually looks like it won't break in 5 mins... haha

I hope its not fixed on, that stock would look killer on a AT, its kinda similar to the new super soaker stock

Think you've missed what Clunk meant by fixed stock.

    Fixed, as in not collapsible.

That looks great, it looks like, essentially a glorified recon, or another paintjob, but hopefully it can achieve the ranges it boasts. Also, I think Hasbro is actually listening to us

??? What does that mean lol, They could do that at any time and they probably never will, this is evolution, do you see even a Nerf Crossbow doing 75 ft? It'd be a hard one but I'd take Elite over Retro.

My Crossbow gets far more than 75ft flat. Just sayin'.

abowden wrote:even if they turn out to get like 40-50 flat, I would be okay with that, because then it wouldn't just be another stupid freakin' repaint (like last year)

I agree. While repaints can be nice, this whole new line is pretty fancy.

In terms of the mechanics, no way in hell is this a DP blaster. As Unknown said, it is basically a stock OMW blaster. 50ft isn't unachievable in a modded recon, in fact, it's rather standard.

    Internally, my theory is:
    Better fitting stock breech
    High-flow air restrictor
    Stronger spring
    Possibly a dart tooth tweak
Most importantly, the darts. These look to be more stable and an optimal weight. Light silitips will be cheaper, however. These will probably be a stock version, but still useable.

On a final note, that full body stock is amazing. This will probably become a regular rotation in my arsenal, methinks.

The standout N-STRIKE ELITE blasters will officially launch on 8.1.12, with the most impressive blaster in the collection hitting shelves on 9.9.12.

Im guessing that the standouts will be the rampage and the retaliator,

Looking forward to the Recon Revamp if not only because I love the new stock and it'll mean more of those clips floating around to work with. I just hope that they don't use "Elite" as an excuse for "Outlandishly and prohibitively expensive".

If it IS a redone longshot, I dare say people will cut off their right ear to get one before release date.

I seriously doubt it's a longshot. They've put the moulds away guys.

How could they do 75ft? Pretty easy if they do a plastic rip of a brass breech with a scaled-up plunger. That's all they need and with access to machinery, engineers and god-tier funding and market placement why not? Still, we live in hope. My tip for third elite blaster is a higher performance longstrike. IT'S BIGGER, BITCHES. If I had a second preference, it'd be on a new design.

You're probably right, they didn't do any recolours of the longshot so it's probably long gone. An upgraded longstrike would be pretty awesome, but i'll put my bet on either something new, or an alpha trooper.

I would wager that one of the new releases will be a full auto blaster, either a slightly different looking Stampede or something newish. They always seem to have something like that in the lineup. Unless the Rayven was meant to fill that gap, but then again it is not fully automatic.

i am assuming he meant that the new longshot colour will be green like the rayven. but i doubt it will be released again so long after it got discontinued.

i too would put my money on a fully re-designed stampede in the blue and orange.
