    Hi all,

We are building a public toy and game expo in Sydney for the Queens Birthday long weekend. We are really keen to interact with the Nerf community in Sydney to ask what they would like to see there and how they would like to be involved.

Anyone out there interested in chatting about this?

Spamming your post on this board isn't going to help your cause.

Though I am not in Sydney here is a couple constructive ideas:

    • New unreleased nerf blasters on display. We go nuts over these, an option to see one would be great.
    • Small nerf competitions which nerf is known to run on occasion (don't know many details about these as I haven't seen one myself)
    • Nerf!

    Hi Joey,

Wasn't intending to spam anyone. I put something in the new visitors area two days ago and no one replied so I assumed I had posted in the wrong area and figured maybe I should be in the general area. My apologies if I upset anyone. I will find out how to remove the other post.

Some great ideas, we are working on the Nerf Competitions to see what can be created here. How much of a gap is there between the overseas release of new product and here? I assume they typically release first in the US?

    Thanks,

    Charles

    *is interested*

    Target Practice!

Not really a competition, but set up some targets that they can shoot with a time limit.

I'm pretty sure BYO Blaster is not on the cards due to safety reasons... BUT thats not to say that wouldn't be interesting.

Do you have a potential location/venue yet?

Sometimes there is a huge gap, sometimes it is the same and on rare occasions we get it first. Most of the time we get it a couple months after the US does.

This thread http://www.oznerf.com/t4379-tia-toy-fair shows some new blasters that are coming out some time in the future. If you could convince nerf to get your hands on one of those then you might have some people showing up to check them out.

Fact of the matter is we figure out about this stuff so early then whenever it hits the shelves it is old news.

    Hi there,

Thanks for your responses. Yes on 9-11 June with the venue being the Sydney Showgrounds at Olympic park and planning is well underway and full details are at the toy and game expo website (I cant put in a link I think because I am a new user). We still think BYO blaster might be an option - not to use against people but as a demonstration of capability. Also we had thought of some competitions such as accuracy/distance of modified blasters etc. There are obviously safety issues we will have to consider in this equation.

Joey, you raise a good point, and one that I face with all passionate users of Toy and Game products - if you are keen you bought it online or overseas months ago and have it well prior to its normal arrival in Australia (or if really keen attend shows overseas to buy the latest stuff). This is only our first year but we need to keep thinking about how we can make it really interesting for high end users of products - not just people who have limited experience or are new to the product.

    Thanks,

    Charles
