Firefly mod suggestions??? Empty Firefly mod suggestions???

Post  Bommah Mon Feb 20, 2012 10:58 am

So today my Firefly finally arrived in the mail (found it on my bed returning home from TAFE) I'm so happy now and I really want to mod it, the only thing is, I have a few questions about the mods.
Q1. Would it be a good idea to add in a maverick spring with the stock spring?
Q2. When removing the air restrictors, is it possible to just hammer out the bits, or will I really need a drill. If so, do I need to take any special care?
    Cheers!

you have been waiting all this time to get it and you never googled any mods? shame on you.

remember not to rotate the turret by hand. it snaps off the rotate mechanism inside rendering the turret useless.[u]

    Check your firing mechanisms.
Whats happenig when you attempt to fire. I.E trigger is pulled but no "pop" from the plunger tube.
    Help us help you.

How did you complete your mod..I hope you took it apart to remove the AR's not while it barrel were still attached.
if possible can you take photos for us.

Well it works fine until I pull the trigger then it just makes a loud crack noise, the barrel still rotates and all but darts wont fire. I also took it apart to drill them out (the ARs) I'm actually at school right now so I'll upload some pictures when I get home.

Are you sure adding another spring is gonna help, it primes perfectly and everything but the darts won't come out.

    Bommah... -.- lol

Ok so he is replying to your first initial question (Firefly Mod suggestions???) and he is saying adding a 2nd spring will help your gun fire nearly double the average length, adding a 2nd spring will NOT fix your gun, take your gun apart and analyze carefully Bommah, It'll come to you. It did with my Recon.

This thread is full of those lol moments...

Back on topic, I have drilled out the circles where the barrel posts used to be on a Maverick, and over the 3 times I tried it, mine broke every time. Cutting off the barrel posts is fine though. Try ripping the bits out of a couple of stock Mavericks and see it that works. I'm 90% sure that will fix it.

Bad seal. either between the turret and the plunger tube, or the plunger tube itself. Test the seal of the plunger tube.

I honest to goodness have no logical explanation for that!!! Why should the damn gun not work because there isnt that little bit in the back of the barrel???

Your problem is just like the maverick, when you drill out the dart post fully it just doesn't work, you have to leave the base of the dart post intact and in the gun.

    hope this helps.

If it is so like a maverick then you could try what i did when i broke one of the AR bases and bog up the turret with blu-tack.
