Can OMW kits match air blasters?

Short answer for short question: No
Long answer. There are very few springers that will come close to matching up to an air blaster and OMW lacks somewhat in power over what can be acheived by even a "happy hacker" modder

Yep, OMW kits are over-rated in my opinion. But, designed for a particular market of NERF enthusiasts.
There's way too many variables to be taken in to consideration with your question. A fully modded BBLS or Tripleshot would outrange an unplugged AT2K or similar.
But, when you start to look at the standard Air blaster's - BBUMB, 4B/LAHB/TITAN/HC - then there's no modded springer that will come close - provided the right person has modded the air blaster to begin with.

the omw kits arent too bad with the proper reinforcing and hell, it fixes the crappyness of RP blasters bringing them up to shiny turds. useful in the AT or Raider specially for SFW. however an airblaster will leave you with welts at twice the range or more

All I can say is, if you try to polish a turd... it will still be a turd. So OMW is crap. Only good for Nerf Enthusiasts who's ability to mod is at a level of zero or lazy.

They're completely different things.
No springer will hit the ranges of a big air blaster.
No big air blaster will have the reload rates/rof of a clip based springer.
Better is a subjective term that needs to suit your purpose.

Got 2 OMW kits now. AT kit yesterday and a recon kit a while ago
Got them for blasters that my mates could use.
Will have a review up over the weekend.
From what i see power is not the point of the OMW kits.
Air for power, springer for speed.
