Official (Believed to be) picture of the Nerf Hail Fire from the new N-strike Elite Series, I will buy it on 9/9/12 but not sure what to think about it right now.

That is by far the most ridiculous Nerf blaster I have ever seen. And I don't mean that in a good way.

Yeah the bulges on the side are far bigger than I imagined and it looks like it holds more than 4 clips?

So why would they make one like that? Wouldn't it be better to have a 36 drum?

Nice find, but this looks absolutely hideous. I'm not even sure I want one, other than for the fact you could run 8? 18 round clips in it for huge capacity. but really, Nerf failed on this one...

I agree with you, the concept pics looked better than this.

If you say flywheel one more time >;o lol I don't think it's flywheel, the Vulcan isn't Flywheel, nor is the Stampede, and they both work well and this is essentially a hybrid.

Granted the clips look like they may be pushed into the barrel and then into some flywheels which will launch it, I doubt they'd make such a big blaster fly wheel.

It's definately a flywheel - it has the flywheel 'trigger' below the actual trigger a'la the Rayven.

I believe it is a clip-switch. There's a power switch above the trigger. Vulcan Al a Carte haha turn power on fire, switch clip fire, switch clip fire.

There are also bulges at the front of the gun just behind the barrel end, these would be where the flywheels would be placed. The button under the trigger is certainly an electrical switch and not a mechanical one. So an 8 clip blaster, just wonder if you could load it up with 8 drums?

If that's the clip-switch it's really poor design as it's placement would encourage it to be pressed as the trigger is, I'd say the switch above is more likely to be clip rotate switch.

I'm guessing the switch below the trigger is the power-activation like the Rayven.

Also guessing that the orange switch where the hammer would be on a pistol is the clip rotation mech switch. Still curious as to why the pic shows 6-rd clips, instead of the all new 12-rd clips...

I think it could possibly rotate the clips and use each clip one by one.

Does anyone else think this thing could be equipped with homemade internals? As for what I think, I think this is the worse design nerf have made yet, performance is assumed to be par with a barricade or rayven.

If it is a full auto battery springer like the stampede, where the hell do the batteries go?!

The only place I can see them going is in the back part above the trigger.
Which leaves no real room for a plunger and if it does it would be a weird messed up reverse style plunger.

So it has to be a fly well, unless it has some huge retarded looking battery tray on the other side we haven't seen yet?

1 It will be Fly Wheel the as shown by the handle.(the dual buttons)
2.The orange thig at the back most likely a battery tray.
3 The handle at the front have a look at it im guess thats the mech for the clip swap.(you slide it foward then back ala pump action)
4.Has anyone else notice that the 3rd clip is just haging there the clip notch is exposed nothing in it. How is it being held in place
5.The forth Clip has no notch.
    5. Have a look at how the darts line up with the barrel. 2 Clips in line how does the dart pusher work..I.E if it uses the rear Clip how does it avoid the foawrd Clip. It it uses th foward Clip how is the dart pusher work it would have to void the rest of the gear.

They having released the public information about this gun in video form, gotta say... I'm not even gonna bother. 144 dart capacity is cool but not a good enough reason to buy another semi-auto blaster. And it's just... so ugly. So so ugly. It looks like a dying cow with a distended stomach.

Video here for those that missed it.

The good thing about semi-auto fly-wheel blaster is that they are easy to carry around... It would be cool if it was full auto. I'm not going to buy one. (not that I like hasbro anyway because of the urban taggers thing)

do you think that they will make you buy extra clips separately? just to make people buy more blasters?

I would think that this blaster is more of the appearance of That unusual "flying saucer gun" from back in world war two.

If you are unaware of what I am talking about, I am referring to the Pulemyot Degtyaryova Pekhotny, or DP -28
here is a picture for comparison.
    Nerf Hailfire Picture 2946d1233037977t-soviet-infantry-weapons-collection-dp28-lmg-left-side.
If you could flip the magazine over, flop some more wood on it, remove the barrel protruding past the sight post and there you have it......actually no, no you don't, you just have a ruined antique. But at least it looks less retarded than the Hail-fire.

I have to admit, this gun just looks to Overkill for its own good.
Nerf, I think you might be running out of ideas.
