Smiley Faces.

So it has come to my attention that these faces= Are not appearing on the screen.

And in case you don't know what I mean it is the 'Semi-Colon' and then a Bracket.

Sorry, I know this isn't a 'big' issue, but I like those emotes.

It was a stupid topic but I miss those emotes.

Got turned off because people were overusing them. I'd have thought telling off the offending users would be a better option, but apparently turning them off completely was easier.

They were turned off because most of them were large, irritating and were being used way too often.

Personally I don't think emoticons have any place in a forum like this and support the admins decision.

It's always better to give thoughtful feedback and constructive criticism rather than simple emoticons. I know I'd rather people actually discussing a mod of mine as opposed to spamming me with afro-smileys.

Unfortunately I took these smilies off because there were way to many younger members overusing them inappropriately and it got to the point where I could not moderate them all. Especially when used in immature fashion such as

It made the forum looks childish and unappealing for the more older members. So old school smilies we go :).

I still wouldn't mind if the ascii emoticons (that is the plain text ones) would be allowed. But I did hate those image ones.
