longstrike brass barrel queries Empty longstrike brass barrel queries

Post  MercilessRezno Mon Feb 25, 2013 8:40 am

    Hi guys,
I'm going to over haul a longstrike and am wanting to put in a brass barrel.
I've seen a guide on OMW's forum but there is no specification to the diameter of the brass.
    eg. 9/18, 17/32
Any help would be much appreciated.

    Cheers,
    TOM

I'm not really sure on sizings as I have never done a BB before, but I do have a suggestion before you start. perhaps do a direct plunger conversion with spare retaliator internals, and use that breech as your base for measurements. you'll get a ton more power out of a direct plunger but you can't use a reverse plunger breech on a direct plunger setup, so you would have to redo the breech again if you decided to convert to direct plunger later on.

For something with such a small plunger volume, I'd say 9/18 would be your best bet.

Which writeup are you referring to exactly? The size of your barrel needs to match your darts.

Also 9/18 is 1/2", you guys mean 9/16".
