SGNerf R-Series Blasters? Empty SGNerf R-Series Blasters?

Post  Sanchez Sun Nov 03, 2013 11:17 am

Hey guys, does anyone have any experience with these homemades? The catch looks like a really great system and all the parts (except the spring) look like they could be sourced really easily. I guess they could even be made with some of those springs from RS online.

Heres the link: R SERIES BLASTERS

    Thanks

IIRC, homemades like this are a little frowned upon for public wars - more for their aesthetic link to spud guns than anything else. Might be worth checking with the Melb crew to see what their guidelines are.

Yeah, I figured they would be a grey area (pun intended). I'm actually building a Snapbow right now and was thinking of changing because this catch looks a little more sophisticated. I'm really building this just for the fun of it.

Do it, it'd be a good experience. If you can improve the aesthetics to make it appear more "toy" like, then you may be able to get away with it. As mentioned, run your plans past the governing bodies at your local club.

I think several rolls of orange e-tape (if I can find any) should make it pretty toy like, but I will check if I go to a war. I've actually found every part for it in Australia except the spring. Might do a little write up if I get around to it.

Possibly a K25, K26 or a KA spring would fit your purposes. Might need to order internationally but that's around the same load and size characteristics.

Yeah, I bought 5 k26's from Acnerfshop. I'm using Nerfomania's videos. Would it be ok if I just write up an Aussie parts list and then link to another write up? I am making it pretty much exactly the same.
