Nite-Finder PETG mod Empty Nite-Finder PETG mod

Post  kingkottah Wed Feb 10, 2010 11:57 am

Hey guys well over the past month I have been just browsing the forum at 399 posts, so I desided im going to give something back to the community that I have loved being a part of over the past year! Oh I almost forgot Nerfmasterman seriously think before you post, you would not belive how many times I wanted to say Get the fuck out!, but recently you seem to have under stood correct froum manners and I wont really mean it.

    I give you a PETG Nite-Finder mod.

    First up materials:
    1 Nerf Nite-Finder (no shit)
    1 screw driver
    1 piece of PETG (I used 5 2/4 inch)
    1 hot glue gun
    1 hot glue stick
    electrical tape
    Thats all you need

    Time for the mod.

Here you have a ordanary baddly painted Nite-Finder (I chose black for Rodger)with the AR(air restrictor.)
    Nite-Finder PETG mod P2100412

So unscrew it, you wont need a photo for that and you'll see the internals.
    Nite-Finder PETG mod P2100413

Unscrew the plunger and remove it with the barrel assembly ditch all of it besides the front bit and the Air restricter and peg you will need it later, you should end up with something like this. Now this is the piece that has the peg in it I already had taken mine out but it isnt hard and you shoudnt need a photo unless your stupid or are just extreme noob.
    Nite-Finder PETG mod P2100414

Get your hot glue gun and your PETG and hold it in place and glue it, it is recommened to use Epoxy but I dont have any it. Its seems I forgot to take a picture. When the glue has dried get the electical tape and tape around it and then tape it to the main plunger. Should end up like this.
Nite-Finder PETG mod P2100416 Some how I got my foot in there.

Now for the front bit you will need a sharp knife or something to dig it out so the 1/2 inch PETG can fit through it.
    Nite-Finder PETG mod P2100417

Now you should try to screw it back together it can be kinda tricky but faily simple and you shouldnt need a photo.

    The finshed product!
    Nite-Finder PETG mod P2100418 Nite-Finder PETG mod P2100419

    Tadah my new Nite-finder!
    Ranges will be posted tomorrow.

Comments, constructive critisism or just get the fuck out?

    Nice Writeup.

Only thing I would of done different is, sanded the top of the part where the PETG goes, onto and used epoxy.

I see you've made use of the foam and PETG already.

By the way what ranges are you getting with it?

Just a bump on this. Did you find out precise ranges on it yet? I'd like to know the difference because I'm planning to do this to all my NIB night finders.

Not the prices its acually very bad after the first few shots, I think my seal is terrible, I might fix it up. If you use epoxy and dont fuck up you should get at least 50'

Umm, I don't think so. I have homemade internals in my Nitefinder, and an industrial spring, coupled and a conduit barrel, and i'm getting 70ft. flat.

Don't be so quick to discredit him, MS4E, my PETG'd NF, with homemade plunger head, C836 spring, and petg barrel hits mid-to-high 80's consistently. It wouldn't surprise me if others got 70ft flat.

Good mod but iv just modded my NF (removing the AR) and without a barrel tip. What i did do is take a spring off of a Belt Blaster Tek 6 wraped it around the stock NF spring than put it back together. it fire's upto 70 feet per second now and its no joke and i didnt even have to use rubber bands for the thing you pull back and i was still using stock airsoft darts

Can you speak proper English please. Also do you mean Belt Blaster or Tec 6? If you had either of those springs I highly doubt you could get 70 feet.

Belt Blaster (The brand) Tec 6 (the model) and i have tested it for the past 20 minutes and done the measurements it shoots 70 feet per second the shortest shot was 68 feet per second so if u think im lieing i will be posting it again as a topic this time after the nerf war saterday than u can try and prove me wrong

Well for starters you cant really meausur FPS (not first person shooter), we meausur range. Second this is nerf not airsoft, I don't know where you got "airsoft dart" from but its nerf. And lastly fix your spelling and grammer as a 22 yo should understand the basics.

Oh and maybe you should learn the proper names for the parts.

    EDIT:

"Belt Blaster" isn't a brand its a gun made by buzzbee. Oh and I will prove you wrong even the best of nitefinder's get the 100's, MS4E has a great nitefinder with homemade plunger and that kinda stuff he get 65-80 (just being a bit generious in the give or take (MS4E correct me if im wrong.))

Haha, I think you shouldn't be flaming him about flaming when you can't spell "measure" or "grammar" properly. Don't turn yourself into a hypocrite now!... XD.

I think Airsoft Dart maybe meaning he used Airsoft bbs as his weight? Who knows. You can measure your darts with the velocity, it just shows how fast it fires which is another thing which is essential to nerf guns! But range would be nice.

Well its a bit different for me, im 13 and well lets just say its a bit different when a 22yo makes critical errors in his spelling notice he is using "u"'s instead of "you"?

Littlebro does have a point though, you cant really flame someone for spelling mistakes if you yourself make spelling mistakes. It is as Littlebro said hypocritical regardless of age.

I know everyone here loves to beat each other up over spelling and grammar but RadientRaider actually attends wars etc so I think you guys should chill just a little

Brandon your spelling and grammar are ok (not great but at least 'u dnt spll lk ths'), however to make it easier for everyone on the forums you need to work on your terminology, ie: the names you call things. Being newer to nerf I can understand there is a lot to learn however it is worthwhile as it makes communication with other nerfers much easier.

In the case of this thread as has already been pointed out, buzzbee is the name of the company, they also make the belt blaster, and in most cases you dont need to say that, if you just said tek 6 people would know what you were talking about

Also when talking about darts, stock darts are called darts, homemade darts are called stefans, and there are types such a CDTS, streamlines, sonics, suctions etc never airsofts (that is a different game involving BB guns)

Also when talking about range the 'per second' is not needed, we never measure muzzle velocities (feet per second) but rather range, which is simply referred to as feet along with 'flat' or 'angled roughly x degrees' so that people know how you were holding the blaster.

Please make sure you check the last post date/time before you post in a thread. Posting in a thread that is more than a couple months old tends to make the moderators very unhappy, and clutters up the forums with old topics. You may wish to edit in an apology, or remove your post.

My point remains. The last post was almost 6 months ago. You're new here, but that doesn't mean the mods will go easy on you. The forum rules are located at the top of every forum page for this reason. So you can read and abide by them. A friendly warning, the mods here are strict, but fair. Follow the rules, and you might just live
