Hmm sounds like something that the Longshot stock would suit very well
Also which version of Steyr are you thinking?

    Peace

I'm already working on a bullpup Clip gun... but yeah, designing it is the challenge, if you don't design it and have the understanding from that, fabricating it will be pretty hard.

I don't want to discourage your enthusiasm but making complex homemades such as these kinds of projects are considered the 'top tier' of nerf engineering, and really, you can't skip the bottom levels as they provide the foundation. I'd work on modding some guns, eventually you'll be able to re-breach a longshot. From there you can look at fabricating complete homemade internals for guns then finally move on to complex homemades.

There are too many tiny things which you just learn over time modding guns that contribute to you building working guns, and an understanding of the LS internals is very significant as this is really the most effective breech/clip based system for nerf darts

You could probably go pneumatic using a home made three way valve to actuate a piston valve... but for some reason people dont like seeing air powered guns on the battle field

It seems like no-one searches for themselves anymore.

It's not a personal attack really, had anyone in the forum said that to me, I would've responded in the same way.

Nerf forums, as a whole, are trying to break the 'dependence mentality' which sucks the productiveness out of forums. It is not our jobs to provide people with information they can easily find themselves. I don't like people being like "hey give me everything I need to know to do this", which most new members, heck even plenty of old ones do.

All the information is out there, it's your responsibility to find it, not my responsibility to guide you to it. I don't owe anyone that service.

Also, it's your responsibility to seek this information so that you don't look like a douche (not meaning you just anyone in general) so many people post threads about concepts that have already been tried and have failed, so I call them out on their mistake, they get pissy at me, but really it's their fault for not doing enough research to discover what a failure their idea is..

    If i may quote AJ...

    AJ~ wrote:
Unless you have a gun license such guns are illegal. Please do not encourage forum members to engage in illegal activity. Nerf is borderline as it is (the way we modify them), this IS an air rifle, and if modified nerf guns get thrown in this lot then we're all fucked

Even if you do have a class A, you can be booked under the capacity to manufacture arms

...what is Oz nerf's official position on this??

    Basically.. it's all dodgey...

but I dont know.. I particularly discourage air rifles and guns which if built incorrectly are hazardous to their users coughCoilguncough.

I'm still building homemade springers... and my 2k or triple shot would most likely be illegal as they shoot pretty damn far

90% of homemade springers will have inefficiencies in the design and will max out a range similar to a well moded nerf gun, hence why I feel they are a 'lesser evil'

Homemade or highly modified airguns (think persuader) would be confiscated instantly by the police, that's into bonafide air rifle territory.

I love homemades, but we don't want to ruin the chances of getting nerf accepted more widely by creating blatantly illegal nerf guns, nor encouraging kids to do so.

People rate effectiveness, Look at how much of a status symbol +bows are now, so If someone come up with an efficient and easy to replicate air powered gun kids would be building them like crazy because they'd be the 'cool' thing or the 'new standard' in nerf like the +bow in the states, and thus nerf would fall ill of the law enforcement agencies much quicker.

I hope this gives you an idea why I discourage some projects (also usually along with the fact that the person attempting them is a noob, and as much as I'd love to let natural selection deliver sweet sweet justice I can't not say anything)
