    I hope this isn't 'necro'...

but just to add my 2 cents on the Raider. I bought mine around mid-2010, I got the clear version, and now I'm selling it off to my friend (minus stock and drum mag)

This gun's been quite frustrating because it jams with 6 round clips - it's fine with the drum mag, but not with the mags from my LS and Recon. Secondly once I modded it, slam firing became a lot difficult due to jamming issues.

Finally, this is probably because I'm a noob modder, but I didn't feel that all the time and effort I spent making my Raider better was as rewarding as modifying my LS, NF or my friend's Furyfire. I got the AR out, but the faux barrel still made the ranges a crap shoot. You can saw it off but it'll look ugly as hell, and unbalanced weight wise

I did a range test of all my guns, and the Longshot front gun and Secret Strike was achieving very similar ranges to a gun that cost me 59 bucks.

In all I'm happy I got a nice stock, 35 streamlines and a drum mag out of it. Screw the gun.

If you place A 35 drum in an alphatrooper it's kinda awkward. It's great for providing covering fire.

I have noticed with both my Raider (AR removed, padded plunger) and my Alpha Trooper (stock, they fire farther using slam fire than trigger fire.

Not just an effect of slam firing like a spaz and aim going up - if you gently roll of the priming handle over the catch, it shoots noticeably farther than with a trigger pull.

Wouldnt mind getting another raider to do a pistol conversion - has the right look for it at least.

The Raider is the worest gun to remove the AR from since the massive barrel makes it fail and it will break.

Not sure what you mean by this? how does having a longer barrel cause it to fail?

    Fixed

If you mod any reverse plunger gun without re-enforcing the plunger tube, it WILL break eventually. The raider is no worse than the recon/longstrike/etc they all have much the same design.

The Raider is one of the worest guns to remove the AR from since the reverse plunger design makes it fail and it will break.

Also the whole design is quick awkward:
    - the long barrel(this causes the dart to slow down via friction*).
    - the inverted clip feed, makes jams all the more frequent.
    - very little mods that can make its range increase.
    - The newer, lousier internals.
    - modification will make the gun quickly break (so NO dry firing!!)

I had to make modifications to your modified sentence LoL

*correct me if I am wrong.

Yeah, that's pretty much correct. It's really quite hard to make your Raider a "good" blaster. Unless you make a Mega Raider, which rapes.
