Re: Clear Series
Nice review! A little low on content, though. Will you review the Stampede ECS when it comes out?

Re: Clear Series
Nice review. To be honest I think the clear gun looks awesome. And I assume that the plastic is not as durable as the coloured, becuase that's the way clear plastic is. But it is very high quality plastic.
Nice review again mate!

Re: Clear Series
Hmm not sure, as there's already the five clear guns. Will have to wait and see if the clear series is ongoing or just a promo thing.

There's not really a whole lot that can be said about the clear series as opposed to my reviews on the original yellow ones which are up there on the blog. The other thing is I'm always a lil shy on reviewing blasters that have already been done to death, so give I've started so late in the piece, I generally go into more detail on blasters people care about (like alpha trooper, barrel break etc).
I've pre ordered the Stampede, but chances are other people will get it before I do and will probably review accordingly. But when I get it, I will get stuck into it, and the detail shall be there, promise:)

Re: Clear Series
@ pocket, Does the scope on your Raider work or is it just looks.
On topic, Is it just me or does the clear Maverick look bigger than the normal?

Re: Clear Series
Nah I think it's the same size. But TBH I reallyyyy think that the clear Mav performs better then the normal Mav. I know that makes me sound like a noob, but my clear Mav almost shoots as well as my modded Mav! And my modded Mav shoots pretty well. Anoyelse have any thoughts like this?

Re: Clear Series
@Darth LaiI found that too, but I got mine last year when it was in the full box and came with orange-tipped, black sonic darts. It can shoot almost thrice what my normal Mav can.

The scope is from a Super Soaker Shot Blast. It's got very slight magnification, but my opinion on most scopes is they're for show. That and I'm a lousy shot anyway so it wouldn't help me anyway:)
As for the Maverick- it's the same size. Clear is just the new black!

Re: Clear Series
I don't know why but yeah, Clear Mavs perform /really/ well. It's not a noob thing - later Magstrikes perform better because of small changes.Darth Lai wrote:Nah I think it's the same size. I wish I hadn't modded my Clear Mav, think I screwed it up, and frankly they rock by default. (Compared to regular Mavs)

What mods did you do to your mav?

Re: Clear Series
Removed ARs, but while doing so, broke the front turret mounting thingy in the process of getting the turret shaft out - glued it back together poorly. I used one of the AR springs to hold the turret closer to the plunger outlet (mostly because this stopped it jamming after I botched the turret as mentioned above). I also did a deadspace reduction in the plunger - McDonald's straw and expanding foam. Oh, and I glued the hex clutch. So it's fairly reliable now but I wish I had've measured ranges cause I'm not confident I've gained anything decent.Darth Lai wrote:What mods did you do to your mav?
I want to do a spring replacement but I haven't been able to find a good replacement.

Ahh yes. That thing turret thing is a pain.
I also don't know any spring replacements, anyone who does I would like to hear!

Re: Clear Series
Bunnings (at least one I hit) had no suitable replacement springs, really. The C756 someone mentioned somewhere I think... but I reckon it would only work WITH the original, and it doesn't look like it'd fit on the back of the plunger tube.
