Re: Longshot aluminium trigger catch
This must be the sixth or seventh thread you've made about your aluminium parts. Could you just make one single thread and update it as needed?

Re: Longshot aluminium trigger catch
So you're saying that everyone should be using the one thread for everything they make?

Re: Longshot aluminium trigger catch
yes if you are selling stuff you sell all your stuff on that thread,
parts like your aluminium parts should have one thread,
and if you are organising a war have a thread for that.

Mate, I've already asked you to keep everything to one thread.

And that's another reason these forums fail. You can't delete threads for some reason. You just lock it =\.

Re: Longshot aluminium trigger catch
Chrisb, there is one thing you should have added to your Longshot catch. Since you are going to make these could you add a second spring lug to the other side of the catch, to allow people to add a second spiring to their catch. The reason behind this is simple, that the single spring isnt strong enough when people add too strong springs. In my own LS the spring combination used is so powerful that the catch by itself couldnt lock in place, to fix this i first tried a single tighter spring, and it still couldnt catch, but with a spring on both sides of the catch, the catch worked perfectly.
Having the second lug there would allow people to easily install a second spring. It would also be a first as no one else out there has done this yet (not that i have seen).

Re: Longshot aluminium trigger catch
That's a very simple change. I can make them all like that as it wont affect people who dont need it

Yes i thought it would have been a very simple change, and yes it wont affect those who dont need it, but for those who do it will be a 'thank god' moment (or similar). Not to mention it will give you an edge over the rest of the guys making these parts too.
When making catches (for any gun), if it is possible to add the second lug, do so. Go for the edge.

Reaper, you need to think of this like a sales person, or from a buyers perspective. If one was looking for a certain art, hey would be more likely to open a thread with a topic name for the part they are looking for, rather than going digging through a topic looking for what they want.
It is all about marketing.
And if someone is going to go to the trouble of making parts then you need to expect them to have a thread for each new part made. Almost everyone will want (at one time or another) better parts to make their guns stronger and less likely to break.

Re: Longshot aluminium trigger catch
Possibly, but this many threads is too far. Honestly, I've seen people on NH spend a year or more modifying guns and making improvements on them, but no matter how hard the improvement is, they just post it in their old thread. Because otherwise, it clogs up the forum, and if everyone (Admins included) didn't need his parts, he would've been banned by now. But as it happens, we all need his parts, so he's practically above the law.

How about this compromise
I'll keep the threads per gun

Why the hell are you compromising with Reaper? I said to keep it to one thread. Not that hard.
Now make a new thread, titled with Proper Puntuation with all your aluminum products and their details, and I shall lock all the others. Okay?
