Ok, so I've just changed a few things to the forum settings after a couple of complaints and suggestions came to me from various member of the community.

    • Flood control has now be disabled
    • New registered users no longer have a waiting period. This is so they can get into the community when they want/need to, thus the community is able to grow.

I should also mention we are looking for one or two new admins to help around the forum, so if your interested, just let me know.

    That is all.

Thanks for taking the flood control off, it was getting a bit annoying to edit my posts.

Oh, and I'd be interested in being an admin

Thanks for this, flood control was a bit annoying.

I will also volunteer for helping out, I know I don't contribute that much, but I am able to check up on the site alot during the day.

Goodbye Flood Control... until Oznerf is inevitably DDoS'd using such an exploit.

I know I'm going to get a thousand comments saying I'm stupid - Being 12Y/O and all but I'm online regularly (I.E. Way to often) and wouldn't mind being admin or even mini-admin.

I wan't to prove to everyone here (over the age of 13Y/O) that we 12Y/O's (The mature half anyway...) can do the job just as well as anyone else.

I agree with Unknown (with whom I am friends), but that his argument should include 14 Y/O aswell.

I don't think age should matter so much with being an admin or not.

I would be interseted in being an admin or a mini-admin as unknown calls it.

Also I know I am quite new to this and havn't been to any nerf wars (am working on that) but I do check the forums on a regular basis and try to put my imput in aswell.

I try to be online as often as possible and have been careful with my posts and
    grammar.

On another note thankyou admins for removing flood control.

Probably a bit of a silly question, but, what does a mod do or is it just a status that shows your rank in the modding community?

They are basically like admins, but instead of giving strikes they give out warnings, but can lock and delete threads.

Yeah, I reckon you should become an admin. As you know, you were an admin on my site, (for it's short existence) and I have to say, you were really good at it.

I'm no on heaps, but I am on from Friday-Sunday. I wouldn't mind being a Moderator, because Admins a bit much for me!

So mods cannot ban people but can do all of those other things?

I think I'd prefer to do that rather than be an Admin.

I don't think KingCam will be suitable in the admin role. He may have a lot of free time, but from what I've seen from his posts. He would not be a suitable admin.

It's not his 'post quality'. It's just another reason to have another power trip.

    - Also many need to realise that there's no point being a grammar nazi. People have different educational abilities and what not. They should be told about it in a nice way. Admin's should NOT be publically striking people as ALOT of members have deterred from this site due to this. I can name a few who have left these forums due to this.

    - Thebradl3's would not be a suitable Admin either. Just a moderator. From his posts you can just tell that shit's going to happen. Ban ban ban. Roger Explosion was a good admin, he knew how to deal with things - He never took things 'personally' unlike some of the admins that have popped on this site. Unfortunately many will get a power trip in even getting admin abilities.

Thebradl3's you can detest this. However, just sayin'.

If I went for admin. I KNOW I will end up taking shit personally.

I don't mean any offence, but I do agree that Brad does get a bit edgy when things aren't going his way. I'm glad you can admit you would too, Lilbro :P.

I'm also not very enthusiastic about having some of the younger members as Admins. The ability to ban at a whim is just insatiable, especially at a young age. As much as you say you're ready to be responsible, I think you just need a couple more years to mature.

In my opinion, an Admin can't be too proud of their abilities in Nerf (they should know more or less what is relevant to a topic obviously). It just leads to people getting all defensive during "discussion" for whatever reason. They might not even have to be awesome at modifications or have a massive collection. They just have to know what's appropriate for this forum and what isn't. Not only with respect to the community, but in the way they govern this forum.

That's just my 2c. I hope we find another couple of great admins for this place. It's really starting to thrive (especially in the Sydney Region... FINALLY! )

I don't think Oznerf has ever had a young admin so all thoughts on what we would do are based on what you have seen weather it be media, post quality or personal experience. you see it all the time on the news, school kids videoing fights, Graffiti, vandalism, theft. I think the actions of these kids have given us younger members a bad rep. My point is that EVERY one is different and judging us on what others have done isn't fair. Sure we're not as mature as you older members, but what is it that builds character and maturity? It is my opinion that you need to give us a chance to represent ourselves and show you all what we can do. Please don't take this the wrong way either, I do NOT wan't this forum to be run by kids but rather a balance.

I too, want to register my concern over younger admins. There have been a few unjust decisions in the past in my opinion, I'm not pointing fingers at all as I honestly don't know who is responsible, the point I want to make is I wouldn't want that to continue through some new, inexperienced and not fully mature individuals as I can quote explicitly from forums such as OCAU who have mentioned how bad the moderation and administration has gotten at times, it's a damn shame we have that reputation and we should make it our mission to buck that trend. "Immature" is not the right word in this case, that's too hard, immature implies that regardless of age you act a two year old, not fully matured refers to making a concerted effort to better oneself over time, you're not up to the standard just yet, but in time you will be.

In terms of whinging alot without any action, I wouldn't want to become Admin or Mod, make a bad decision and disenfranchise a user to support this very important community.

In the game of life 15 is very young while it may seem old to us 12Y/O's.

Great, these changes (or reverts rather) were much needed.

I wouldn't want to be an admin but I would take mod any day, deleting double posts, locking derailed threads with reason are right up my alley.
