Fool proof way of improving accuracy of your streamlines, only requires etape/PVC tape

Take 15cm of PVC tape and wrap it tightly around the front end of your dart like so:
*Adjust amount of tape (and thus weight) to personal liking

Easily add weight to streamlines Pvc_ta10

Works well out of modded/unmodded blasters alike

Extremely easy and cheap, try it!

I've seen these, they're used by the nerfers in China, there was a thread on NH about it.

They look pretty good for stock blasters but for our modded guns I think blue foam will work better.

Actually, I believe you are referring to the Taiwan style, which utilises wire wrapped around fbr blanks, and then taped over the wire.

    Oh, haha.

It was in a foreign language, so I couldn't really work out what they were made of.

So these are two different styles?

I wonder what the difference in range/accuracy would be between the two?

Correct me if I'm wrong but I believe those taiwan style darts don't use wire, it's the nerfhaven guys who put wire for m0ar weight?

I think it's a great way for those who don't have access to better materials to improve their stock streamlines

I didnt get any better ranges on my longshot through this mod.
I will try again to see if it was my error with the taping. Still no increased ranges.

Well you're increasing weight, that should improve accuracy since there is more inertia to help prevent crazy streamline behaviour.

Range is expected to decrease if you increase the weight of your dart.

Oh yes. Sorry, I misread your original post.
    They do increase accuracy.
Im actually doing it to most of my streamlines to help with accuracy and to also determine which darts are mine.

Putting hotglue on the tip also increases weight/accuracy, but this is also a good method.

Yeah hotglue is fine but you need to cut off the tip and then make a nice dome - it also hurts more if you shoot someone in the face with a hotglue tip, the advantage is that it eliminates that pesky airhole in the default dome.

IMO, it's a lot of hassle so I always go with the lazy way
This is easy to get consistent results and takes less skill, perfect for entry level modders hehe

I've got to agree with you on that one mate. If ya gonna use hotglue you might aswell be making stefans. lol

Not a bad mod and I understand the point just a few issues.

1.Does this affect the way darts sit on dart posts?

2.The constriction on the dart, Will it have a negitive effect on a longer flight as the air flow around the dart by creating a pocket of air near teh E-tape?

The constriction does not affect the loading in terms of the dart post. There is a rubber post underneath the streamline head which goes down the foam about 1.5-2cm, and this is what the tape is predominantly constricting.

Regarding the aerodynamics, I have no idea how the air pocket might affect the flight - Just test it and you will find out.

I believe the performance will be no where near a good homemade dart - we're just wrapping tape around a streamline - don't expect too much from it.

This shall be good for my titan until I get a hot glue gun. Normal streamlines suck ass in high powered air guns.

I cut the tops out of the streamlines and put a massive dome of glue on each one the heated a stanley blade to trim the heads. they look like .44 magnum rounds now and go almost 12 feet further than the streamlines with awesome accuracy.

That would take a fair bit of time to do wouldn't it?

Yea it does. I spent a few hours perfecting them this morning after my deploy turned up. I just packed glue onto the tops (after the air pocket was cut off) then shaped them roughly with a stanley blade into a point, then I sat a piece of alloy plate on my gas stove and turned it on low, then rotate the dart on the alloy until it was shaped like a slug.

When I tested them I didn't expect to get the ranges I did. I thought they would have been to heavy for a stock raider or deploy but i was wrong.

Oh and I learnt that having a loaded barrel mag with these puppies isn't smart unless your home by yourself. I got hit in the ass by one that my missus fired... I'm still not speaking to her haha

I'm going to make more of them and experiment more with my magnums and see how I go with them. I might be able to make a mould for them so i can mass produce the tips.
