All of todays orders will go out tomorrow.

We use standard post cause it's cheaper and almost as fast as express.

Can't give you a firm answer on delivery time, but if you check our feedback there aren't many complaints about slow delivery.

Mate, I'm sorry to hear that not because of the lost sale, but because of the fact that you aren't honing your young skills.

    What about your dad?

Would he have a drill, allen keys, a shifter and a couple of screwdrivers?

I'm sure he'd be stoked if you asked him to help you.

Yes. I recently bought two Longshots for $10.50 each. Today I got one for $13 and a Barricade (with yellow stock) for $7. Now I have a few cheap Longshots sitting around, I might consider buying one of these pump action kits to try out.

I've installed mine and can say it was pretty easy. The strength of the aluminium makes me confident that the pump will long outlive the gun itself and it definitely makes reloading much easier! Another happy customer

Received and installed mine today. Took me all of about 15 minutes. I had to shave down one of the nylon washers, as it was slightly too wide, and providing waaaaay too much friction. 5 minutes later, and with a sanding drum on my Dremel, it was shaved down, and ready to rock.

Anyone installed this on a LS with SSSpring/BTV2 spring and stock spring?

Mine's extremely difficult to prime, and pretty sure I've installed it correctly. I mean, it's not like I'm building a dragline or anything, so fairly confident on the install...

Apart from that, I can't comment highly enough on the fabrication!

    Cheers,

    Cheers,
Clunk, I have a BTV2 spring in mine and without the tape it was slightly difficult to prime. Definitely doable but also slightly difficult if you weren't used to it. Sometimes I'd "hook" my thumb and index finger around the lip of the pump to get a bit more grip
Tonight, I just stuck down the black grip tape provided and now it's much easier. I can rest my whole palm flat against the metal with no "hooking" and pull it all the way back now.
Something you might want to check is to see if the nuts aren't on too tight. If you overtighten it then it's just more friction on the nylon hence making it hard to prime.
I should also mention that I'm 70kg and I don't go to the gym Your thick aussie arms are probably a lot stronger than mine (I'm asian)

Yeh, I just wanted to see if anyone else is having similar issues. The nuts aren't too tight, and I've sprayed everything down with silicone spray. In fact, I only get half a nut on the front bolt, and it's only finger-tight.

I have to hook my finger and thumb over the end, and it's that hard to prime that I've drawn blood...

I'm positive the issue is with the front bolt. It appears to be fouling in the slot, and is starting to strip the thread off of the bolt, which is creating excessive friction.

I've had a couple of other tradie's check the positioning of the hole I've drilled for the front bolt, and we're all happy with it's location. I think I'll have to try either grinding down the shank of the bolt, or using a smaller diameter bolt.

But, at this point, it's a bit frustrating for me to deal with. I'm sure there will be an easy fix though.

    Cheers,

Thats where polycarbinate grips win, the polycarb has nice smooth edges that don't hurt, i've been 'hooking' the grip with a V2 and stock without any problems.

Looks like you have to settle fore a medicore spring loadout with this shotgun grip, it looks good and professional though, kudos to you, oznerfnerd.

Polycarb can still slice your skin if you don't sand it down. Alumininum can be filed down pretty easily too so I'm not worried.

Yeh, sort of missing the point Xoenz. It's not the fact of sharp edges, rather the force needed to prime it. The edges have been prepped rather well, and if the grip wasn't fouling on the front bolt, there'd be no issues with having to hook my thumb/finger over.

    Cheers,

But with 6mm polycarbonate, it's thicker and it distributes the force better than the 3 mm aluminum.

I'd rather this grip instead of polycarb, imo polycarb looks a bit nooby as a pump grip. These ones by oznerfnerd are the nicest ones I've seen to date in terms of aesthetics, quality and ergonomics.

I'd get one, but my paypal account seems to be playing up right now, which sucks a fat one. Hopefully I'll be able to get one next time around.

Yeh, still not getting the point mate. The alu is prepped properly, and would be alot stronger than polycarb, even being a smaller thickness.

I'd have the same problems using polycarb, as I have with this kit. Hopefully I'll get it sorted next week, as the grip is manufactured very well, it's just the alignment with the bolt.

    Cheers,

Not taking away from what you have Xoenz but 3mm alu is MUCH stronger than 6mm polycarb.
And the one that oznerfnerd sells are perfectly symmetrical and presents a very professional look.
Granted yours is probably cheaper and you should be proud to call it something that you made yourself and that works well but we're talking about solving a problem that Clunk has, not recommending that he should have used polycarb instead.

    Update:

I've honed down the shank of the bolt, where it protrudes through the grip on the LHS, and it works fine now. I'm figuring I've received a unit that didn't quite meet the tolerance in the slotted hole. This is just part of the fabricating process though, and nothing that OzNerfNerd could do about it.

So, like previously posted, I can't recommend this product highly enough.

Review to come in the next few days.

    Cheers,

    Hi all,

Great to see your experiences coming in.

Clunk, it looks like you might have got one with a bit of a "slaggy" laser cut in the slot.

Mate I'm sorry about that, it is rare but can happen.

I sent you some more bolts, and if it doesn't come good, I'll send you another bracket.

As we discussed, a light filing of the aluminium in the slot will probably do it.

It seems that Nerf manages to mass produce some irregularities in their dimensions.

    Xoenz...are you high mate??

If you just check the video, you'll see a point about spreading or tightening the clearance without having to shave down the nylon bushes.

I might help to add the link to the video in this thread. I know I haven't seen it yet.

My grip fit nicely, I did a quick sand of the guides as well to make it move more freely.

I don't think it's very practical using a 16Kg spring with this though as it takes too long to prime. There is still a lot of extra friction with mine so I'm hoping once I've seen the vid i'll be able to adjust it to be smoother.

I think the best set up for this grip would be on a secondary LS with just a V2 spring and brass breech to make it a Mid-high range blaster with great RoF. I could see that dominating at a lot of wars.

    Hi Oxy,

The video clip was attached to the ebay listing as well. You didn't see it there?

It's only a matter of stretching or squeezing it a bit with your hands, you'll see it there.

There is also a point on there about how tight you should have the nuts as well (which does affect priming friction).

I'd also check the slots in the aluminium that the front bolt slides in, as just a few had a bit of laser cutting slag in them (not many). A light file to the inside of that slot may help.

Set up correctly, there is virtually no friction and cocking is much easier than with the standard handle.

Mind you small kids might have trouble with it, but they probably would with any heavy spring set up.

I disagree about the 16kg spring being too heavy, as my spring is only a kilo or two heavier than the V2, which I understand is 14kg.

I have 2 set up with that spring, and they are great to use (even if I say so myself).

I'm not sure what you mean by it "taking too long to prime" as it travels the same distance as the original handles, and you don't have to change your grip like you would with the handles.

I do agree with your point about it being good for midrange ROF, which would be a very common "combat" scenario.

We had a small war at our place, and it was real good for that.

Nice to see you back as well!

If you're having dramas with it, send me a pm and we'll get it sorted out.

    Cheers,

Cool thanks, I must have missed it on the eBay listing in my rush to buy it.
There's some good pointers in there that I'm sure will fix my friction issue.

By too long to prime I just mean the effort required to pull it back is too much.

Oh and FYI, whilst everyone originally thought the V2 spring was a 14Kg load, it is actually more like 11.5Kg - I think I'm the one who started the whole 14Kg thing too. I must have calculated it wrongly first time round - my bad.
