    G’day Guys,

My name is Aaron and I live in Western Sydney, NSW. I’m 24 and work in the banking industry, in my spare time you will find me pulling apart my car or hacking around a golf course! About a month ago Sydney was flooded with Nerf bargains that caught my eye and after picking up a Vulcan from Kmart, it didn’t take too long for me to start searching google for modifications and that's how I found oznerf.

I’ve been lurking around ever since reading all of the great how-to guides and buying things from informer, servulus and clunk who have all been easy to deal with! I now find myself with a cache of weapons and ammunition including stampedes, mavericks, vulcans and all of the different spring and dart combinations I have managed to get my hands on!

I have noticed the priority on correct grammer and spelling on here so you probably won’t find too many posts from me, but I thought I’d introduce myself anyway..

    Keep on foaming!

    AJ

For anyone interested, here is a link to a photo album of my car (the 13b lol)

    Hey Mate.

Yeah it was a total dog box with the standard ECU, turbo setup and motor build.

After replacing the ecu, turbo's and adding a nice heavy mild port on the last rebuild it has really unleashed the beast.

Very responsive shit box now, in the midst of a single turbo conversion athat should pay some big dividends.

Ultimately it will be limited by the auto box, not sure on what I will do at the this stage.

They are auto from the factory and most of the conversions I have seen have left the interior chunk-a-fied which I am just not keen on.

I am also a fairy tall bloke so my size 13 shoes won't allow the addition of a clutch

Will most likely go down the lebo path of stallies and a stronger build on the jatco box.

    Lebo path of Stallies??

Yeah single turbo works a treat. I'm running a single turbo on a V6 and its just insane, small turbo though, but stuff all lag.

Amazing what an ECU does...bigger injectors and 15-20psi.

Yes that was probably a bit of a generalization, more just referring to the 'burnout type/hoon' reputation of stall converters! lol.

That would be nice, what car do you have?

Which path did you go down with the ECU, Microtech/Haultech?

Ha ha, cheers bro, i enjoy blowing away cars worth $100K and over...
Hunting down wrx's became very boring, cant believe how over rated those shit boxes are. 3rd gear and its all over.

Big heavy V8's, Maloo's, they all get destroyed...

But yeah i've never hit the track with it, but will do soon.

Upgrading the rear exhaust housing from its tiny 0.64 up to an 0.86.
Will have around 350 at the wheels then, but driveline will be a problem....isnt it always.

Which turbo are you running at the moment?

Going to pick up some injectors in the next week or so, I'm looking into which top mounts to go with. Can you point me in the right direction from experience?

Ok, with rotarys, and your 13b, its an absolute weapon.

I would not go above a 15PSI fuel map. I've been at Maztech, you know Anthony right? Well he doesnt write fuel maps above 15psi for street cars, for its more than plenty. Even my car never see's redline, so much torque its endless.

It all depends on what power you want. I'd drop in and see Archie at PAC Performance and talk to the pro's, they have guys in 8sec-9sec street cars that are very reliable.

I'm running a Garrett GT2871R, but i had the exhaust housing down sized, the new Garretts are just insane. When i turn my car off, it just keeps spinning around for nearly 2 mins.

I did all my manifolds, throttle body and turbo pipes, etc, but not the injectors and ecu, i payed big for that, and not my area. Rotarys i love though but cant help you there. Let us know how you go with it!!

Ah thats all good, I was just interested in another opinion! Nothing better than talking shop with someone who knows there shit!

It's in good hands at the moment.

Currently tuned by Castle Hill Performance, Dale is the tuner there is a gun with Microtechs.

They also built the exhaust and are shaping up an exhaust manifold for the TO4z. For so many months I procrastinated between the GT3582R and the T04z, but the tuner called shot gun on the t04z which has been the delay as I had originally saved for the cheaper 3582r!

Last week the fuel rails were delivered from extremerotors down your way, man I've never had a better buying experience.

It's still on a run-in tune and has been for about 16 months, you'd think I would have done the 1500km's in a month lol.

I will most likely order the turbo when the dollar hits 1.03 odd, the current dip will teach me for being greedy and trying to hold out for 1.10!

Did you checkout the touch screen in dash setup linked to the microtech? Thats about my only claim to fame lol.

No i havent seen the touchscreens, that would be sweet.
The TO4Z is awesome, your car will blow the shit out of mine bro, i respect rotarys and love them, actually

I've kept up with a Series 5 one night, and he was awesome about it, stopped at the lights and he was like-WTF is in that? Had a great chat, but he was running a small turbo also and only 12psi. The turbo i'm running is what a lot of guys but on their 4 cylinders, but way too laggy, by the time they hit boost, there a speck in my rear view lol.

Heard of Castle Hill, very good tuners. All the magazines i've read over the years..haha.

LOL, I owe you one man.

Went and jumped on the video watched it to listen to the sound and noticed my address is on the gps shot!

I will see if I get some sound of the turbos at the moment, they are running parallel instead of sequential.

Much more fun, probably similar power to your turbo.

Ha ha. Get a Ford F6, will destroy a 6.0 and have better fuel comsumption.

Turbos atomize the air with the shafts, they chop and dice the air burning all the fuel.
So you have the best of both worlds. 565nm from a factory car is insane.
Meh HP and KW, its all about the Torque, thats what pulls the car, but yes, cubes will always win at the end of the day....just how long is the stretch of road...?

ha - I'd rather walk before owning a Ford... lol.

But, yeh, my SSV actually surprises me. Obviously, it's not got the torque of a turbo, but it winds up a hell of a lot quicker than I thought it would. It's actually quite a big difference as opposed to the 5.7L SS I had previously. Hits $2.60 fairly easily, without needing that much road.... Still, the stretch could always be shorter!! haha

    Cheers,

That sucks mate. I've had another one break today too, but it was on my first Longshot, so it served it's purpose well. I think with the more powerful spring loads, it's going to be an inevitable issue, and there's no real way to reinforce the plunger rod. I've even tried drilling out the plunger rod, with the idea of using a larger machine screw with a coarse thread. Unfortunately, the diameter of the rod makes this damn near impossible to achieve. I tried on my three broken rods with no success.

By the sounds of it, Chrisb is going to have a number of people chasing the alu plunger rod once he gets around to fabricating it.

    Cheers,

What about the PAS?? Would be better than a LS wouldnt it?

Triple Shot is damn strong, with the spring i'm running, its bullet proof.

Yeh, I still like the PAS, but LS has a few advantages.

Easier to get bigger ranges, clip-fed, and it's bigger and heavier (which is a bonus for me).

And, a lot easier to buy!! haha

    Cheers,
