    Hi all,

I really like small label movies, especially sci fi.

    Here's a couple I've come across recently:

This one's from the bloke who made "District 9".

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PKYZq_8N9QQ

    This one looks promising:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kNDaOFQ6g2I&feature=relmfu

    Sequel for District 9??

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mnZD37W9w0U&feature=related

If you've got any reviews/recommendations for this kind of stuff, please put it up.

If you can explain how a "tech unsavvy" bloke can find and download these kind of movies in full, I would really appreciate it.

    Cheers,
    Joey

The director of district 9 has said he does not want to make a sequel before making another movie. He is worried about being type cast as "the district 9 guy". Which funnily enough he kind of is.

Looks like the movies-trailer site is long gone. You would have to find a torrent of the movies, "Tetra Vaal" being a short movie might be super hard to find.

All three of those trailers look really good.

As for downloading stuff, I have only just progressed from needing to ask my wife to find stuff for me so maybe I can explain in a way that makes sense to a noob.

This is how I do it...

    1. Download and install BitTorrent
    2. Go to www.thepiratebay.org and search for your movie/TV show etc. If you don't find what you want right away, try adding a * at the end of the word/
    3. Look for a file with more "seeders" than "leechers"
    4. Once you've found one, open it and read any comments. The more positive comments the more likely it's going to work and be good quality.
    5. If you want to play it through your Playstation, look for .avi file types as you will have more success with them.
    6. Hit "Download" and wait unpatiently till it's finished.
    7. Enjoy your free movie

That's what I'm looking for, a source of those "super hard to find" underground movies.

    Can anyone help with that?

    By the way,

If you watch the bit in Tetra Vaal where the robot is firing the assault rifle, you might note that it looks almost exactly the same as the "prawn" firing the weapon in District 9.

    Bit of recycled CGI???

    OK,

Just saw yours Oxy, you must have clicked send one second before me.

    I'll give that a go.

Let's get the juices flowing on some of these awesome types of films...

That third trailer looked like "fan made" work, Youtube is chock full of movie trailers for movies that will never exist... often they're just the product of someone's sense of humour.

A less well known Sci-fi movie that is worth a recommendation would have to be Mutant Chronicles (steam punk/Armageddon themed)

I think this might be a little too old skool, but I love it... "King of the Rocket Men". Someone gave me the whole series a few years ago on DVD and it's most entertaining haha.

    Here's a trailer:

    That looks cool!

I've never even heard of it, but have some other stuff around that vintage.

I'm pretty keen on that moon nazis one, thats been a popular conspiracy theory for years.

    Anyone else got anything?

By the way, the second series of the new version of "V" has just come out.

I've seen it in standard DVD, but I want it in bluray.
