Why do people put such long barrels on their guns when re-barreling? What advantages does this have over a shorter barrel?

Sorry if this has been asked before.

Well longer barrels have the advantage of better accuracy but if you are looking to put a long barrel on a Nerf blaster put it on a highly modded Longshot or another powerful springer and a modified Air powered blaster like a Buzz Bee Big Blast (BBBB), Titan or another powerful blaster as the long barrel that comes with the Recon or Spectre is pretty useless.

    Kind Regards,

So it just comes down to accuracy I see. Thanks.

EDIT: Probably should have put this in the questions thread, sorry.

Its all about the power of your gun. More powerful blasters need more time to build up pressure/ have more power to release, thus a longer barrel allows the dart to receive that power for longer.

For example if you had a 6 inch barrel on a titan, the dart would leave the barrel very quick and only have that initial velocity to propel it, while all the rest of the air in the tank after the dart has left the barrel is wasted.

You really need to use a bit of trial and error to find the optimal barrel length for different blasters. Hope some of that helped...
