    Hi all,

I've been messing around with my Vulcan some more:

It's doing around 50-55 feet flat in the video.

I was holding it down so as not to nail the TV.

    Check it out...

Yeah, I actually held myself back there (LOL).

I'm actually only an instrument technician, and did some years repairing power tools.

Vulcans and Stampedes are basically a plastic jackhammer.

I probably will do something stupid with 100v (Mount Everest, because it's there) in the future, but need to figure battery space and probably rewire it in heavier wire.

But I'll probably move onto a new project with a sealed breach, high ROF Stampede.

I'm also developing a few electrical products for Nerf modders, plus another kit at the moment.

How large are the belts? Does the motor have enough torque to pull a 75 or 100 round belt through this thing?

It's all described in the video.

I ran 2x50 straight belt, and 1x75 circular belt.

It pulled them through no problems.

Welcome to the forum, by the way.

Heh, I was listening with the sound off. A 75 round circular belt does sound like something that would be half-way viable at a war. Very interesting...

Welcome to the forum, by the way.
Thanks, I've been lurking on all the nerf forums for awhile. Gotta keep up with that foreign technology.

That's awesome. It isn't particularly practical, but for a bit of fun, who cares? By the way, you mention in the video that you will soon be stocking the motors on your eBay store. Any estimates on when they will be in?

Yeah, but it chews it's way through all the chains, and loading a new one isn't quick either. You also can't carry around all the rounds necessary to use it very easily (maybe a M249 Box Mag Pouch would work?). But it looks like great fun, in fact, I really want to make one for myself (hence the enquiry about the motor).

    This is an awesome vulcan.
Cant wait till you get the motors for sale.
Wonder if they are the same ones i ordered from oversea.
I just havent had the time to mod my ones yet.
Have you thought about adding a cooling fan near the motor.

    Thank you,

I actually have thought of adding a fan, and have a couple of heatsinc/fan units for RC car motors in the cupboard.

I haven't done it simply because I'm always busy with my business, and usually put a half hour job in on it, then film it.

If I actually decide to break "the ton" with it, I'll have to fully rewire it with heavier gauge wire, in which case I might fit a fan while I'm at it.

Yep I also find it hard between work, working around the house and my 2.5 year old daugther to do any mod work on my gun.
