this is a thing i have been working up to for a while, and I'm finally NEARLY done
A while back, I had my whole clear recon kit disassembled, and ready to paint (the orange parts) grey, to match with some metal OMW Kits. sadly, i never got around to it. but, my $10 LED kit just arrived, and I'm borrowing a soldering gun off a friend. It is a CREE Q5 3.7 volt 1 watt LED (not a laser), with a 15 degree lense. I have a 3.2-4.2(input) to 3.7(output) driver, but 1.5volt batteries go right around the input range, so for now, I'm running it with 3 volts. even then, I blinded myself
Now, i had to trim and butcher almost every part of the shell to fit the LED, the bigger battery and the lens, but I did not want to loose the original design. in my mind, NERF modding is not about making blasters more useful, while retaining their original purpose. Such as, battery upgrades make better use of the stampede, while putting a BB on a drain cleaner is just a tad overkill.
Anyway, I wanted to keep the sliding motion of the LED to focus the beam, and keeping the original switch, not just throw in a useless laser pointer, like I have seen other people do (NERF BLASTERS AREN'T THAT ACCURATE)
This 2 pictures were taken in the same exterior lighting, with 3 volts instead of the 3.7 volts which I will eventually get around to (Anyone with knowledge of using drivers in LED circuits PM me please).
Also, If anyone can sell me a trustfire and a recharger would be very helpfull
