Need Maverick Help Urgently!!!

My Maverick 80% of the time doesn't fire, the bullets just move out a fraction or they go , like 1 metre or nothing happens at all!.

Is it broken? Is it fixable?

I'd be inclined to take it back for a refund. Easiest way of doing it. Sure fixing it yourself is more fun though. As for actual help - I've got the same problem except it's self-inflicted (forgot to put a spring in), so I can't really give you anything too constructive.

You'd probably be best off taking the casing off and taking a heap of pictures. Best way to diagnose the problem.

I could probably help with your Maverick but you have to take it apart, I had the same problem when I took it apart and stuff... when you pull the trigger see if the barrel centers when it rotates. I could probably help you from there.

Yeah my Maverick is broke. The thing that makes the darts fly doesn't seem to connect with the rotating barrel . I'll be watching this thread.
Oh and it makes a sickening whack whenever it fires.

Without further details/internals pictures it's hard to diagnose oz nerf (original poster), but for you toiss it sounds to me like your plunger internal bit isn't installed properly - when you put it in the frame (when your maverick is opened up), make sure that the 'inside' bit of the plunger (the one with holes in both ends) can't move backwards and forwards. The flange on the front end of the bit I'm talking about should sit between two 'walls' on the frame, to stop it moving anywhere.

Well your only viable option seems to be...

1. Grab your gun
2. Throw it in the bin
3. Go and buy a new one
4. Don't ask for advice on fixing something you're not willing to fix!

To true, don't expect to fix it, without doing anything mate.

To toiss have you taken your turret apart if so did you put the pegs (the orange shaft with a disc on the end) back in? If not the there is no seal between the part where the Ar's are and the plunger just blows air in to the turret and not down the barrel.

Sorry that I couldn't provide any help.

As I said last year glue around all air escape routes.

So back on the topic of Maverick help...

Anyone reckon a standard pen spring would work as a replacement for the spring under the firing release ring?

Maybe? you might wont to go a tiny bit higher, and then inproving the air seal towards the dart.

I know it seems obvious, but I have seen people make this mistake before. Try pushing the darts in as far as possible, I have not put it in sufficiently before and have had similar results to what you are describing. If that isn't your problem, then man up and post internal pics so that we can diagnose it for you.

How far would you say a clear mavrick would shoot in feet ?

I had the same problem as that with mine. it's either

1. The stock darts are irregular (not likely)
2. your restrictors NEED to be drilled out (not likely, but this will help)
3. Mavericks are generally crap. (most likely)

I suggest that if you don't have any modding skills, take it back to the shop & demand a refund/exchange.

If you can manage drilling out a hole in each barrel's restrictor. (This also removes the barrel post)

It's a relatively simple modification to do.

I have found out that you need to pull the trigger semi-quickly, to make it align and shoot properly. Also, if you seal the plunger right you get quite a bit of 'force' pushing the air out if you shoot it without the Revolver Mag in and hand in front of the plunger. Maverick's aren't bad unless you know how to mod them I guess... It's a cool 'backup' weapon rather than even a secondary.

Also if you want it to spin properly, put a bit of grease behind the back of the revolver mag so it spins more smoothly.
