I can't imagine they would seize it. I'm pretty sure it's classed as a toy and is fully inorganic so I don't see any reason to hold it.

You will be happy in a week. Only suspicious things are stopped through customs, such as replica arms or dope looking plants. Any plant matter, for that mattter. No, thats quarantine...That is my knowledge on the subject.

    I agree.

Laser pointers are readily available in Australia, I can see no reason why one mounted in yellow plastic is going to be a problem

You need a weapons license for some laser pointers.

Awesome, its bought....and for the record, it is not a nerf red dot. its a full on holographic red dot sight.

Now for the other part of my question.

Do i need to mod the Nerf Tactical Rails?
or will the scope just hopefully retro-fit?

Update: My bad...Its a QuoteUnquote "Airsoft Replica"

@plaguehammer: If you are bringing in a replica gun of part of then u might have issues

@Psykka: I had a look and found a bit of info about laser pointers. This comes from the Guide to Controlled and Prohibited Weapons, published by the Dept. of Justice, Victoria.

"33) A hand-held battery-operated article commonly known as a "laser pointer" designed or
adapted to emit a laser beam with an accessible emission limit of greater than 1 mW."

I have looked at heaps of laser pointers in Jaycar, etc. Never seen one exceed 1mW

Well yeah that's because they are prohibited. You're more likely to find them in specialist equipment.
For example red dot laser sights.

Yeah reflex sights are a better option, and they don't blind people.

Mod question.....of sorts Empty Bringing in a Pinpoint Sight

Post  CerealKiller Sun Nov 07, 2010 12:38 am

I had my Pinpoint Sight imported from the USA and customs didn't sieze it. A couple of things about the Pinpoint sight. - It's not a laser. It's just a tight-beam led, put into like, a little restrictor thing. So you won't have to worry about that. Second thing, just make sure it's marked as a toy when it comes through. If they do get suss about it, they'll just open it up, see that it's bright yellow, and send it on it's merry way.
Like I said, I got mine in no problems.
Hope this helps ease your mind a bit.

    Its plastic, there are two ways I have seen it attacked to the tac rail;

Using longer screws (as the screws it comes with are too thin)
Ripping apart a recon iron sight thingy that comes with the recon, and then connecting this site to that ones tac rail connector bit.

you will be fine getting it through, as long as it is not more powerful than a 5nm 300mv. which is still quite powerful for a nerf gun sight.
