Indoor week night war 5th Jan Update 2

I just want to guage interest for an indoor war this summer. Have access to large venue at no cost! Let me know what you think!



Update:
Due to interest, we will be holding this war on the 5th of January.
Start time: 5pm
Location: 3357 Pacific Hwy, Slacks Creek (Impact Church building)

Food: There will be the option to buy a pizza for yourself, from memory there is a Pizza Hut close by. The way this will work is that all who want to buy a pizza will tick which pizza they want and pay for it with cash, then I will organise for the pizzas to be picked up.

Pizza will be ordered at 6:30 pm.

Drinks: There will be cans for sale (price TBA)

Rules:

The rules at this war may vary from wars you have been to, so here is a quick list!

1) Protective eye wear must be worn.
2) Only direct hits count as a kill/respawn depending on the game.
3) No physical contact of any kind
4) The ref/ umpire is always right, even when they are wrong.
5) If someone calls you hit, don't argue

Please listen at the start of new games as the organiser of the game will explain the rules.

I'm totally keen, but when yousay week long night, I'm assuming that we just meet there each night, nerf it up, then go home and come back the next night?

It's only one day during the week. As in Monday through to Friday.

I'd be interested, though it depends where and when.

It would also be very helpful to have boxes for cover etc.

Ahhh... Ilike my idea better but this still works Count me in almost 100%, just need a when and where also so I can arrange my plans around that date.

The where would be Springwood/Slacks Creek, was thinking early to mid Jan.
Its just in the getting intrest stage! Will create a new thread if and when it becomes an official war!

Yeah cheating would be an issue, but it's still heaps of fricken fun. It's good if you play eith your mates so that you know they won't cheat and be douches.

But there will be light on at this place I'm assuming/hope :p. Will it be a stock war, just so that we dont punch holes in the wars, it's very unlikely that that would happen but it's a slim possibility. Or would modded guns be allowed?

yeah i'd be interested in it, but it's bit far for some northsiders. i do like the idea though, good on ya, an indoor war is a good solution to the summer heat

Yes there is lights also the possibility of smoke machine and colour lights. Venue has air-con as well as sound system so you can have umpires with hand held mics. Modded guns would be alowed upon inspection.

I do technical for theatre stuff... I could bring a strobe light and other fancy stuff.

Thanx for the offer, but from memory there is a strobe there! At this stage I am just guaging interst for the idea.

This sounds like the work for the furyfire! Or a reverse plunger clip system gun!

If everyone grabs a fridge box or two, that will provide heaps of cover. This is what we do at the Ipswich venue however now there's about 40 boxes stored there.

Ok it has been a while, but I have organized a venue for Wednesday the 5th of January 2011. The plan is to have a night war starting around 5pm, the address is: 3357 Pacific Highway, Slacks Creek, Queensland. At this stage, the war will be free entry as the venue is a church. As stated before, this will be a indoor war. The venue has air-conditioning, lighting and sound. Please post your thoughts, and I will post a nerf war thread later with more detail.

hell yeah dude count me in. What are the approx. Dimensions of the playing field? Is it all one level? Because multi level fighting would be epic. Also, what ranges would the gun need to shoot under to be allowed?

I hope we won't be required to pretend to have faith in order to get in.

Also, for those of us who may or may not suffer from minor tourettes or get hit by stingers and swear, will there be any actual church staff around damning us to the fiery pits of hell? It kinda ruins the game.

EDIT: In response to the OP, night wars are awesome. Furyfires with flashlight mounts kick ass.

I don't have the dimensions off hand, but will get them. There is the ability for multi level games - it is limited, but I have played a Gallipoli scenario before. I have also played a hostage game, as there is a large room upstairs with two entry points.

No faith required. It is my church and there will be players there from the church, but this is just a Nerf war. As far as swearing goes, it's best if you don't, but if one slips out no-one is going to care. But if you start to swear and abuse others, then that is a problem.

Because this is a indoor night war, I am able to pack up the venue the next day, so if you have touch then, you can SMS me and I can let you know if we are still playing! I'm keen to keep playing as long as others want to, so this war could finish late!

Also, as this is a indoor war, there will be no restrictions on painted weapons. And for those who like to dress up and get into character, you can come as a ninja or in full camo, as we are not in the public view.

Yes there will be over 1000 stingers plus 200-300 13mm fbr darts, I will also bring all my stock darts! There will be a voluntary gold coin donation for the darts. Also we will be taking pizza orders on the night, and cans of drink for sale, so bring some cash if you wish to partake.

Camera was a bit dark, but otherwise a very nice location. I don't recommend stacking chairs as cover, they tip over easily

Yes, sorry about the darkness. As for the chairs, I would usually agree with you, but the chairs are in rows of 4, making them alot more stable. I've used them in previous wars with great success. On a side note, I always let people know that everything within the playing arena is considered a solid, heavy object which cannot be moved, regardless of whether it's a cardboard box, a stack of chairs or a fabric divider.

I'll be there, hopefully with my new urban BDUs and a couple of friends.

Sounds like a lot of fun. Would it be ok for a couple of noobs to come and watch for a bit maybe. Not sure the wife would let me spend all night warring.
