Hey Guys thought I'd make a thread for numbers on who is making the trip to Adelaide this weekend (5th and 6th)

Renee and myself are definitely coming. Anyone else planning to make the trip please post here.

Also are any of the Adelaide boys going to BDO? Perhaps we could all meet up. We are definitely going to see Deftones, Rammstein, and Tool if anyone wants to join us. I think there are still tickets available too if you are still considering it.

I want to go but at this stage, I'm undecided based on whether KingCam is going or not.

The way I see it is that if he's not coming, I'm most likely going to organise a flight to Adelaide which would rely on me to get around locations via public transport (St. Kilda will be a bitch just from looking). This will also mean that most of my equipment will need to go in your car, Psykka.

If he is, then I'll use my car and do the trek. This is going to be the much more expensive option for me but having a car will allow extra flexibility to move around. If anyone else is intereted, then yeah let's ride.

Cam, you're going to have to give me an answer no later than tonight. Please give me a heads up.

Is driving really that much more expensive? last time I drove to melbourne it cost me about $150 in petrol and maybe a few snacks. Unless you're able to snag those ridiculous $20 airfares the standard price of a return trip to adelaide would be $180-300. Driving definitely takes more time, however gives you flexibility and is especially useful with nerf as you can bring your own gear etc

What day are you guys planning on coming over? thursday night? friday?

$90 return airfare to Adelaide in business class with Qantas as opposed to over $250 in petrol return in my car: You tell me which one is more viable if I'm on my own.

    Exactly...

$90 seems super cheap, using mad frequent flier miles or what? especially for business class. $250 also seems rather steep for petrol - we did it on $150, with a v6 commodore - not the most fuel efficient car, I do agree that if you can get flights that cheap then it looks a lot cheaper to fly. You could probably get a lift to st kilda with someone etc, i dont think it'd be impossible, just adelaide transport sucks haha so be wary. Where are you guys staying btw?

Well, it seems that both Cam and I are going on a road trip to Adelaide. Screw flying, screw PT, and screw taxis; we're rocking up "fully hectic uleh" style and I might go and do a U-turn in your city just to annoy your boys in blue. And we can also carry our loot too.

    Fully sickuleh, Habib...

So yeah, I'll be getting in contact with you, Psykka about serious business. Yeah...

My car currently runs at 10km/L. Hopefully premium 98 RON will make a difference but I'm not far from the truth in estimating how much it will cost to fill my baby up.

Did I say $90 in business? I actually meant first class, just to rub it in. I pay more on tax than the airfare itself.

Myself and Renee are staying at a hostel called Annie's place.

It looks like SS and Cam might stay there too but that's not confirmed yet.

    Oops, having trouble finding accommodation...

UPDATE: And now I have booked a room at the Adelaide City Park Motel. Ugh stress...

And as for you, KingCam, I will be sending you a PM regarding the plans for the trip. Our COA will not disrupt your plans for the afternoon, nor will they prevent me from picking up the rest of the BBBBs.

Nice, you're both pretty close to glenunga high school (L'Estrange st glenunga, just take greenhill rd)

For St kilda playground, Pt wakefield rd's a straight run up to st kilda rd

Really though, you shouldn't have any problems finding either venue.

Shouldn't have too much trouble. If I fail too hard I always have a gps to fall back on. But my phone has maps so I should be fine.

Is anyone else going to Big day out?

Going by what I've lloked up on Whereis, Adelaide looks small in a convient way for us to have no troubles getting to wherever. I'm just sketchy as to where I can leave my car while at the motel.

I'm taking the liberty to make the double-post to ensure that both KingCam and myself are on the way. We're resting at the Bakery Hill Maccas (Ballarat).

I'm taking it easy with the driving, and I don't mind arriving later than our initial ETA (1pm ish).

    See you all there...

I'd recommend parking your cars on the stretch of south terrace that runs between pultney street and hutt street - lots of long term parking there (10 hour, not measured on weekends I think) and it'f safe, just across the road from where you will be staying. I've parked my car there for long periods of time and had no problems, the offices of the DJ company i work for are very near where you guys are staying (charlotte place)
