    Recon Review (Stock) Nerf-n-strike-recon-cs-62
Hey guys, this is my first review.
If there is any feedback please post in the thread.
I hope this review will assist with other new nerfers who are interested in buying clip fed guns.

    The Good Points
The recon has some good points, this includes its attachments that look cool and sometimes useful.

    The Red Dot Light
This light is purely for cosmetics and looks light the grenade launcher you find in Call of Duty games.

    The Barrel
The barrel of the recon increases accuracy and can be detached and attached pretty quickly.

    The Sight
The recon has a sight which can be used as leaf sight (for angled shooting) and iron sights for close-quarters.

    The Stock
One of the attachments included is the recon stock, although it does not include an extra clip. This stock can hold an additional clip and help steady your aiming.

    The blaster
The recon can be used as a pistol (with no attachments), a smg (with the stock), and the assault rifle (with all attachments).

    Bad Points
The majority of these attachments are purely for cosmetics and don't do much except hinder it. For example the light is not powerful and is only accurate up to 15 feet (4.5 metres).
The stock is flimsy, the barrel reduces range and the gun is REVERSE PLUNGERED ( really bad in terms of modding potential). Also it jams if you use bad darts or prime too quickly.

    Range
Range 25 feet (no barrel) 15 feet (with barrel)

    Ratings
    Versatility 5/10
    Range 4/10
    Looks 7/10
    Reliability 3/10
    Overall 5/10

This gun is an average gun, great with close quarters and indoors but not good for range even with mods. Occasionally jams but looks cool, sigh.. if only the gun performs as good as its looks.

I hope this guide helps feel free to give me constructive critisism
    Thanks

    It's a decent review.

Your formatting is a little crowded, which makes it a bit difficult to read.

Other than that, it's a good job for a first review.

I do have to say that putting a raider drum and stock on the main part of the blaster makes a mean pistol. Don't bother with the blasters' own extra bits.

Mods aren't much AR, Spring Improvement are the only things you can really do. Ranges average from 50 - 60 ft

Thanks man and seriously the recon is bad to mod, compared to direct plungers anyway.

When you say, "if only it performed as good as it looked." you should say that to a longstrike

I just take off all the attachments, chuck a raider stock and drum on and then it'sOK for indoor wars with the AR's removed.

I just take mine outside and stomp on it, then come back in and cry because I wasted $25, for which I could have gotten a Hand Cannon or TS.

I think (imo) that a well modded deploy is as good as any well modded recon.

But each to their own as they say.

My Friends got a deploy, does the same range as my recon (Same Mods). I guess its down to cosmetics when your looking at reverse plungers.

IMO a deploy is big, ugly recon that gets the same ranges and doesn't come with many attachments.

Why doesn't this thread just die?

    On topic:

Recons, while not having the moddability of Direct Plunger blasters, are not bad blasters.

IMO, if anyone bothered to put any effort into how they play with any blaster, they will find a way to make it work. My sister and I have used reverse plungers almost exclusively, and yet we still manage to dominate our own against airguns and direct plungers.

Also, anyone who wins a free for all with a (stock, if possible) reverse plunger blaster deserves a cookie, aka me.

I like the look of the Recon. I don't like how it performs.

I don't know about you, but if you have a high velocity blaster and know how to use it, it's pretty easy to use. I do lots of damage with shotgunning my big blast (only at EPEEN wars) and my RSCB triple shot, I only got 5-6 shots, but I hit 80% of the time from about 25metres easily.

I highly recommend the alpha trooper to people wanting to get into the sport. Not only that, but switch manages to strike terror into the hearts of noobs using only his short sword. Nerf is more about guts than gear imo, but it certainly is nicer to have a blaster with more zoom.

My recon's alright as a secondary, but it lacks the range for the larger map wars. That's why I use an airgun, I guess it all comes down to preference of blaster and the playing style.

Yeah, I'm really looking out for an Alpha Trooper, because aparently it has fair nice ranges for a reverse plunger, I love the rapid fire capabilities and the looks, too.
