I have found a rubber washer that creates a perfect seal in the longshot plunger tube. The diameter of the washer is 36.6mm

I got it in one of these.

But I've seen them available in single and multipacks.

Edit: out of time, brb with more info.

Could we get a picture of this on the plunger when you get the time? I'm seriously considering this, and I'm sure others are too, but I'm just not sure how you'd attach it.

Washers. Many washers and a different screw.

I'm just curious as to how many people have had issues with LS plunger seals? I've just always had a few issues with getting a seal that is too efficient, and I know a few other guys have as well.

Not taking anything away from this find, as it's definitely something I'll give a try, as I have the same fix-a-tap kit for RL applications.. haha.

    Cheers,

I'm actually not going to put it on. I just was going through my bits when I found this out, but to attach it I was thinking of this process.

    1. Filling the side plunger rod with epoxy putty
    2. Sandwich the washer between 3/8 mudguard washers
    3. Add selected washers to work with selected screw and screw on.

Not to flame or anything, but how would you know it gets a perfect seal if you've never actually tried it on yourself ? Perhaps you should try it at least on a spare plunger rod, so the results would benefit both yourself and the thread.

I did test the seal by placing it on the plunger head like padding but I actually have no spare parts to do a full test with.

I'm not sure on this one guys, I think if you were to stray from a replacement O ring, You would be better off finding the right sized skirt seal for the application. the edges of a flat rubber washer may fold back over your steel washer and release pressure. Might be and idea to make sure what ever you do to fit this is fully reversible, just in case it dose not work as well as you expect. D.

Good o'ring to try for higher sprung LongShot is the outer pushrod tube o'ring from a porsche 914/VW kombi. Prefect seal just a tad on the tight side.
