    Hi all,

I'm currently in the process of erecting an 18 x 5 metre shed. Half of this area will be utilised as a workshop for blaster modification, as well as other duties.

Having a blank canvas to work with for my workshop has left me with far too many choices in layout design, equipment etc etc. So I thought it would be helpful to see what other Nerfer's use for their modding area's, and what equipment is most-common.

At the end of the day, I don't believe it really matters how much room you have, or how much equipment you own. I think it's more about effectively utilising what you have access to. I just happen to be in the position of upgrading my existing work-space, and including a designated area for blaster modding.

So I'll start off with my current work area...

Wow I was JUST about to make this thread.
That is one serious modding area.

Mine isn't anything special, just a desk.

Mine's my carpeted room. Yep, that carpet has been raped. I'll repost a pic of all my guns - that area is practically my working area, because when I work in my desk stuff always falls. I really should put some sort of carpet protection.

Electrical outlets on the left of the photo, my bed on the right, and under it is extra storage and where my little toolbox goes.

If I need to saw or sand anything I do it outside. On the top of the photo (so in front of me when I took the shot) is the shelf where I put all the boxes. So definitely put everything in boxes.

Lol you need a rug dude. Tbh, a table is always best. It may explain why working on your blasters is so frustrating for you (Or at least I'd imagine because of your spoilt blaster count :P)

    ...

That being said... I use my bed. That's right. I use my bed for sleeping, eating, reading, AND modding.

I wish I had a dedicated space. I either use my dining table or my spare desk at work so every time I want to do something I have to setup before and clean up after.

haha - I'm working on a Hornet at the moment, so the bottle of Bundy is compulsory.

I keep all my empty supplement bottles for storing bits and pieces in - they can be quite handy. And it's not a Ka-Bar, that's in the next room. It's a SOG Fusion, avg. quality, but good pricing. Very useful for opening freight (which I seem to be getting alot of since I started Nerfing!!)

I used to use my lounge room for modding, but I had the same problem as Oxy - especially with an 18 month old daughter. It's definitely a bonus being able to leave a half-finished project sitting around until I get time to finish it.

Haha, I had a Nerf Longshot box as a place where I mod my guns and it even had holes for all the tools I needed, but then I got bored and tore it apart. I also have a box with a hole in the middle to test how accurate my modded guns are.

One day i might be able to afford a digital camera to take the pics with, but that will come after i buy the lathe and mill!

I can use anywhere i choose to use in MY house, cause it is MY house, not rented, not my parents it is Mine, freehold outright Mine!

I have a nice shed too, but its not air-conditioned, so it gets to hot during summer and too cold during winter, so i mainly use the big ole dining table to do everything on.

I use my bed for serious bisiness.

My modding area is my kitchen table that no longer fits in the lounge room because we got a fooseball table (yes priorities) So now the table is in my bedroom in front of the fireplace. It always helps having a table to do your work on. Helps you keep organised.

My Dads garage is a mess, as a part of our agreement, if I cleaned one half I could use it for nerf mods. That's why my side is so much cleaner than his side

    Ahh...

good to see that nearly every Nerf modshop has a decent sized hammer hanging up on the wall.

My new workshop's encountered a few development issues, but we are making progress. Finished my owner/builder course yesterday, now to deal with council approval...

Well done on finishing your course mate, i work in construction also, so good stuff.

You have an awesome work area, i have a garage littered with tools, but there for my car, blasters are done in my bedroom, or on dining room table. Dremel work done outside. Damn that thing makes a mess, but a good mess.

The table i work on is the table you see in my avatar with my octoshot sitting on top.

I wont really be modding anymore blasters now. Apart from building another more powerful octoshot, that will be all by me.

    Again nice work space.

The gym is next door to my workshop - but maybe not close enough, as it hasn't been getting a great deal of use lately.

Still looking at another 4 months until the shed is approved, erected, and internal fit-out is completed. I have to build a 5 x 5m hobby room off to the side of it as well, so there's plenty of work and $$ involved.

I've got my kitchen bench at the moment. I have a nice big desk that I don't mind trashing, but it's at my Mum's house in Hobart, four hours away..

My bench, ir work space, is about.. 1.75m x 2.5m. Nice and big, but it gets cluttered easily. I do Dremel work and cut pipe or anything like that in the spare room, I i just have a big tub that I do it over, to save the carpet a bit.

    Hahaa! Nice, Matt!
