    Guys,

It's becoming fairly common now to see people posting just to get their post counts up. Really need to have a think before you post a comment like "that's awesome" or "nice blaster".

If you've got something decent to contribute, or a question to ask - no matter how insignificant or obscure - by all means, post away.

Let's just try to avoid spamming or useless info. I realise this is a forum for interaction between member's, but let's attempt to keep it on-topic and useful. Otherwise, there's always Facebook...

    Cheers,

    I've noticed this also.

I know on NerfRev, in the 'Off-Topic Guidline' thread, it states that "if you post in this off topic section more than others, then there will be trouble" (something along the lines of that).

Perhaps Oznerf should introduce simmiliar rules?

EDIT: Also, stuff like, 'nice job' or, 'this is amazing/awesome' can be kept to PMs.

At this point, I don't think we need to look at implementing any new ruleset to combat this - but it's interesting to know that other forum's have had to.

I should have been a bit more specific in the OP. I don't think anyone will be too concerned with what's posted in the off-topic thread, as it doesn't contribute to the actual Nerf information/discussion.

    Cheers,
    Joey

I have said it before and I will say it again. Removing the post count from displaying anywhere will stop a good amount of spam. With out a number to wank off about there is less reason to post useless stuff.

Granted sometimes I do like to tell someone that I liked their idea/picture/work/blaster.

Yeh, have to agree on both accounts mate. And, we've all posted our appreciation of other people's work/ideas. But, it isn't too much to ask for people to elaborate a bit with their posts...

I have a fair idea on who this is aimed at primarily.

I don't post just to get numbers up. I work in a boring store room and most of the day I have nothing to do and so I come on here to check what's happening and so on. I will admit that some of my posts may seem like spam with "nice job" or "looks awesome", but sometimes I see mod jobs on here that you can't put words too (ones that make you speechless).

If it seems like the posts I make are just useless garble, please tell me. You can't learn if youre not corrected on a mistake.

I realise that other people spam on here and I'm not assuming it's all about me.

My appologies for anyone that has been upset by my actions.

Camo - there's way more than just one member that this is aimed at.
