    Vintage/Rare blaster's Empty Vintage/Rare blaster's

    Post  clunk07 Mon Sep 19, 2011 6:22 pm

Okay, I've posted these pic's in the flaunting thread, but feel that the following blaster's deserve their own thread....

    Vintage/Rare blaster's Dsc_1518

Expand-a-blast, Splitfire, Secret Shot and Sharpshooter:

    Vintage/Rare blaster's Dsc_1519

    Wildfire, Lightning Blitz and AT2K:

    Vintage/Rare blaster's Dsc_1520

Comic Con 2011 Limited Edition Transformer's Barricade RV-10

    Vintage/Rare blaster's Dsc_1521

    Nerf Maverick Gear-Up edition:

    Vintage/Rare blaster's Dsc_1522

Nerf Max Force Razorbeast, Mad Hornet and Rattler:

    Vintage/Rare blaster's Dsc_1523

Mattel Ultimator, Lanard Rotator X-8 and Mega Missile:

    Vintage/Rare blaster's Dsc_1524

At some stage over the next few weeks, I'll open up the blaster's, and take some internal pic's/review's.

I've also got some mod's planed for a few of the blaster's, and will post them up when I actually manage to get some workshop time.

    Cheers,

I managed to acquire the wildfire and mad hornet from SgNerf, on the nerfSg forum.

The splitfire, lightning blitz and EAB came from one of our own member's - located in the USA.

All the rest have come from ebay, utilising a third-party shipping company for freight. I've still got 2 x SM3K's and possibly an ArrowStorm pending delivery. Unfortunately, there wasn't enough room for them to fit in this package, and I'm still awaiting delivery of the ArrowStorm through ebay.

There's no doubt that there's quite a bit of money involved in these purchases, but, hopefully, their value will increase in the future, which is a worthwhile investment in my opinion.

    Cheers,

I would classify rare as something you can't just go in the major Australian retail store and buy. So outside of the Alpha Trooper, Recon, Raider, Stampede, Vulcan, Reflex, Barrel Break, Spectre, Tek 3, Tek 6, Double Shot, Barrel Blaster, Tommy 20, Ultimate Missile Blast, Triple Shot, Rapid Fire Blast, etc. (you catch my drift)

For me my 'rarest' Nerf gear are the Air Tech 2000 and an Atomizer.

Will the orange maverick be available in Australia any time I would love on as a backup to my black painted one (for public wars).

Here is something depressing, I used to own a nerf supermaxx 1500 as a kid....I think my father threw it out when I was in year 10

Or I buy one off Ebay! Honestly though, it's definitely a novelty thing to have... like how I got two RFSGs that I don't even use or mod yet and a PAS. A collectors item XD.

    haha Acerised!!

I'd be keeping that AT3K and Red Recon NIB. I'd imagine they'd be worth some coin down the track.

Like the MaxForce blaster's I've got. I may mod the mad hornet, but the rattler and razorbeast will be left stock, and put aside as a collector's item for the future.

Hahah impressive clint! Secret shot, Sharpshooter... hmmm..

Haha of course of course Brand New In Box, pretty proud. My collection is worth quite a bit now.

Although i could have kept 2 brand new in box at3k and a brand new in box twin at2k pack. Now im left with 1 brand new at3k.

Too be honest i wouldnt mod the MaxForce Blasters, as collectors/buyers/etc would prefer them stock if your thinking your going to sell one day. but if they're broken go ahead.

I would imagine we'll start seeing all the gear-up edition's in stores soon.

If not, Amazon.com will ship the Gear-up series direct to Australia.

Maverick - $12 for blaster, $8 for shipping.
Barricade - $17 for blaster, $11 for shipping.
Raider - $34 for blaster, $7 for shipping.

Realistically, the Mav is a little overpriced, the Barricade is nearly spot-on, and the Raider is a steal - when compared to standard editions at non-sale prices. The only issue is the 3 - 4 week wait for International shipping.

    Hey clunk,

On the Canberra and Southern NSW Dart Tag or whatever they're called Facebook page, they posted a bit of intel that the Gear Up blasters were ordered by Kmart. They also said that Whiteout and Gear Up had to be ordered by the retailer themselves, and not distributed by Hasbro. The eta for them were October for Gear Up. There was also intel on the entire Whiteout Series, ordered by BigW for ETA in September, 2011 obviously. There is no word on whether these are Christmas stock or whether they are to be released in the near future.

As i am currently out of the country, I managed to pick up a gear up maverick for around 16 aus? and one of those original strike fires + the shield for 10ish. They also had the gear up raider, barricade and clear deploys. Ill just keep checking around and see can i pick up anything rare or vintage. If I find something REAL interesting, I could ship some stuff back.

Scrap that, I went for an exchange, swapped the Maverick and strikefire for a gear up recon and that cost $23.3 Aus.

    Edit: My first personal recon

Okay, well this should really belong in the questions thread, and regardless, has nothing to do with vintage/rare/htf blaster's...

Tell your mate to think again. Maybe he's confused it with God knows what, I'm not sure, but the wipeout blaster's come with foam darts that have chalk ends. Fairly certain neither will work well underwater....
