Does anyone in Australia make/use Stephans for wars? and is there any reason (apart from flywheels) they should not be used?

also, could stock darts be halved, and have snapcaps or silicon tips? it would mean that we could have twice the amount of darts, and at least half of them (not the streamlines) would be accurate

also, I understand that streamlines have large amounts of the tips plastic lower down the dart that both make it unstable, and not be able to pick up enough air, and that the difference would be even more noticeable in a shorter dart. But, with the new elite darts, with a more tip-heavy design, could they be used effectively?

Most groups do not use Stefans in wars. This is mainly cause if made badly, can be very dangerous and using stock darts is cheaper and are compatible with unmodified blasters for official wars. (well at least in WA)

As a war host I can tell you you a fair bit about dart safety and our regulations here in Brisbane, you can also get more details on specific wars from Brisbane Nerf Group on Facebook.

Firstly, most Brisbane wars don't allow glue dome darts. The only wars that I know of (in Brisbane) that allow glue domes are epeen wars hosted by myself and even then I limit the attendance to mature members only.

The main reason they aren't used is safety. It just takes one dodgy dart to cause a lot of damage.

Yes, stock darts can be halved and converted with sili tips, snap caps or glue domes. You can cut blue foam in half to achieve the same results too.

As for the effectiveness of the Elite darts, well, I guess we'll only really known once they reach Australia. I would imagine that they would lie somewhere in between streamlines and sili tips in terms of performance.
