Big Blast Trigger Weak Spot? Empty Big Blast Trigger Weak Spot?

    Post  Pois0n Tue Apr 27, 2010 2:27 pm

I have been hearing that one of the main problems with the big blast, is constant breaking of triggers. I ask now, because I want to reinforce it before anything happens.

Also, my big blast only takes 4 pumps to kick in the OPV. Is this normal, or did I just get lucky? I did do much research on Nerfhaven and Google.

Not that I'm speaking from experience, but I think it would be a lot safer if you reinforced the trigger, judging by the amount of people that have broken it. It also isn't normal for the OPRV to kick in so early.

I mean, the blaster still gets great ranges, I'm guessing the same as one that takes, say, 8 pumps. I was going to reinforce it with either sheet plastic or sheet metal, epoxy glue, and super glue.

Or you could just buy a mild steel trigger from inf0m3r.

I don't have any money, and want to make one with stuff that I already have.

Use the tutorial I made. You could also make it out of perspex that would be stronger then the weak plastic it begins with.

The weak spot is basically the thin part of the trigger in the middle. It breaks on unplugged guns non of mine have the OPV plugged. I have noticed if you have noobs using them they pull from the bottom of the trigger which causes even more stress if you pull your trigger pushing against the top of the plastic you are barely causing the plastic to bend or stress but it may eventually still break. I have tried epoxy with one section of a Stanley blade on both sides that has helped but not solved the problem.

Okay bit of an old thread here but here goes. I couldn't find anywhere else to put it and didn't want to make a new thread

I have discovered that the latest generation of big blasts have a different internals than the last generation. The main differences are
1: the tank is orientated differently, and possible smaller. The back half of the tank is smaller and almost cone shaped. the front half is larger and squarish. My big blast, which is of the newer generation, takes four pumps as well, leading me to think that the tank is actually smaller. This is not necessarily a bad thing, as it seems to get similar range for half the number of pumps.

2: The trigger system is quite different, and stronger, which is a very useful development.

I'm surprised to say that this is a newer generation nerf gun that I would actually prefer to the older generations.
